Like how the Australian govt blocked airnz from flying domestically over there? While Aussie airlines have a free rein in NZ...

Ok doesn’t apply to crew, but what about crew that go out of New Zealand have lay over day or days then operates back to nz? Been mingling in overseas countries then operate back and no self isolation required?
I was initially a bit concerned about the idea of this, until I read today an Australian who travelled from France to Townsville last week. He was tested for COVID-19 while in Australia.
He then thought it would be a good idea to fly to NZ while still waiting for his results. While having breakfast this morning, confirmation of a positive result came through and is now isolated to a hotel room.
If people are that thick, that they think they should travel while waiting for test results, then keep them out.
(mind you, he was Australian)

I agree, they're woeful at best however they're basing themselves on the Gold Coast as of today so they get to stay in the lucky country and continue playing until the curtain comes down on the whole 2020 NRL season, which won't be far away!!

Good decision, but it's going to be painful for a lot of people. What I don't understand is why the implementation was delayed two days, rather than being instantaneous. Surely that's the logical way to deal with the situation?
Right because this whole situation is going to be really great for Air New Zealand....
It slows down the rate that the virus spreads and that helps to stop hospitals overflowing.
I am trying to workout all these travel bans.So over 110 countries have the virus and they think by stopping people entering their country it will have some kind of magic effect in stopping the spread of this virus that's already running rampant in their country! This is going to run it's course,nothing can be done,End off.BTW It started in China and it will end their .

Air New Zealand to layoff 30% of staff
Air New Zealand announces 30% of all staff across the board to be laid off as a first step. One can only hope that in time things will get back to something like normal and the people affected re-employed.
