Why is Qatar A380 #905 cutting patterns over the Melbourne bay and SE suburbs at 5800ft???

5800ft seems to be a better height than DAL89.

In fact he was conducting a "fuel jettison," just as described in the manual.
A "dump" is something the less couth conduct the morning after a steak and a few pints.
By the way, he wasn't on "finals", he was on final. Do you also fly "bases" or "downwinds"? There's only one final approach per runway.
There you go, now you know the proper terminology.
