Why does it feel more and more that PPrune is being overtaken by aircraft spotters?

Spotters are people too. Be nice to them because one day when you are in your dotage and looking for a photo of the aeroplane Grandpa flew in the war you might just need to ask a spotter. Rgds

The A330s have been having a run of hydraulic problems in recent times. Don't know what the problem was in this case but gear down is notable.

Except this is meant to be the part of the site where professional pilots can discuss what is going on in the industry - instead the majority of posts are nothing more than rubbish postulated by people that aren’t pilots.

If you keep the landing gear down then MCAS can't activate.
