Hahaha, how funny. There isn’t an aeroplane that can fly that as a commercial proposition as yet.
Come back in 5 years..

Any feedback from the B787 pilots about the PER-LHR-PER
Most crew seem to agree that PER-LHR is less taxing than the return, primarily due to the time of day of the departure and time zone acclimatisation.
There has not been any Fatigue reports submitted directly related to the flights themselves.

The recently completed Fatigue study (not the Sunrise sectors) will hopefully shed a bit more light on exactly how crews are dealing with these sectors. These results are due to be available to Qantas and AIPA within weeks.

787 Divisors are at minimum on 145 with plenty of training going on so until the fleet is at full capacity its not a true reflection of normal flying.
There are a greater number of preferred HKG patterns with paxing sectors and night Credits than there are PER-LHR sectors getting no Night credits. Most crews commute to that base and prefer the North South flying with less jet lag. London is nice in summer but winter stuck in that ****ty Chinese hotel i am told is not that amazing.
The planned stick from PER to LHR is 17 hours 20. SYD direct LHR will be around 21 Hours plus.
No thanks. If you gave me the option to fly an extra type for free and get less flying credits to see 2 sunrises and have to be trapped on a jet for close to 24 hours I'll stay A330/787 thanks.
I'm happy that Mr Safe prefers PER/LHR. Of course getting F11 staff travel might influence the decision.Probably flying one every 3 months in the office also helps.

It will be interesting to see if QF accept the Boeing low cost option of using B777-200LR's as an interim a/c for Project Sunrise.

Could Boeing still build new 777LR if ordered today? Hasn't all their supply and production infrastructure been converted to 777X?

Boeing is still building the “classic” B777’s, at a reduced rate.

Yes, now they do if you mean -300ERs and Freighters by "classic" and not the -200 and -300. But taking orders now would require the whole supply pipeline that just got moved to the X to go back to the last generation for a delivery date in two years or similar?

Both the 777-300ER and -200LR are still in production - as noted at a reduced rate. Furthermore, so long as the 777F remains in production - the commonality with the 777-200LR is such that the -200LR will remain 'offerable'.

Wasn’t Tino up in Chicago just recently ?
The story I heard is the Boeing offering for Project Sunrise was 777-9’s with Boeing offering to pay for the blockage of seats
to achieve range as an interim solution until the 777-8 is/ maybe built .
Also heard that the Qantas masters of the universe tried to screw Boeing even further on the conditions on the deal only to be told “ This is the deal , if you don’t like it try Airbus , good luck ! “ .

Or words to that effect .

They will say whatever they want to get this over the line. It’s about fleet pay based on the 787 and a massive saving in pilot wages when the 330/747/380 are all retired. Fall for this and I e got an opera house to sell you.

The 400 pilots Tino La Spiv is referring to will likely come from the retirements predicted for the next few years.
After all the western economies are ageing rather rapidly as the baby boom move to retirement..finally.

So end of next week is the deadline.
Friday the 13th to be precise......is there an omen there?
How can AJ put to the board a business case which is flawed?
No matter what they discuss with the pilots, the project is illegal.
Unless CASA give approval by the end of next week the whole matter is null and void.
Let me think, RedQ and Jetstar HK went no where because AJ went and announced it before regulatory approval.
Looks like he is going for a hat trick.
Superior management!
