Cream pie
Reminds me of a story told by Billy Connolly, while doing a show in Brisbane an old bloke stepped up on the stage and called him a "filthmonger" (to which Connolly replied "Aye, that's a pretty accurate description") then took a swing at him.
Connolly of course remarked that he wasn't hurt, as the guy made a common mistake of thinking his chin went all the way to the end of his beard. LOL
Not wanting to highlight what you have re Joyce's stature but it does beg the question whether this guy would have been so quick to do this if it was Dixon or some other fairly tall person with a bit of mongrel about them... probably not I suspect.
Appreciative staff should look after any legal bills for services rendered regardless of the reason. Despite the public response, I doubt a vindictive and nasty little man will take this well. Hitler hung his assailants up with piano wire and purged something like 7000 others. Come to think of it, excluding piano wire, that's a not an unfamiliar figure!
I'm with Aerial Perspective.
One thing is to say "I'd like to knock his block off" and another is to, without provocation or even worse from behind actually hit a person or jam a pie in their face.
Turns out it was about the marriage equality issue. Makes conservatives look like fools. Playing right into the hands of the Lefties.
That's just my own standard.

Just some religious zealot who resents Alan Joyce's right to express his view on same sex marriage. There should be more people like Mr Joyce in society who are not scared to come out and be what they are-BTW- it is not illegal to be gay, but it is illegal to throw a pie in some ones face. When will the self indulgent religious right grow up.
Thank goodness we did not have a plebiscite on gay marriage.

Self serving r sole.
Had a close call with prostate cancer, makes prostate cancer an issue through Qantas. I don't recall any input until then.
He's openly a homosexual, so pushes the homosexual cause through Qantas avenues including staff wearing insignia.
I'm surprised there's not some form of dental cause doing the rounds.
A pie in the face? Who really cares.

here here Mr Overheu, time to send this leprechaun back where he came from.
Mr Overheu told radio station 6PR he objected to Qantas' support for marriage equality, which he labelled "corporate bullying aimed at social engineering"
'We won't be suppressed': Qantas boss Alan Joyce 'reinvigorated' by pie to the face

I absolute commend Joyce for standing strong in what he believes.
Bullying and assault has absolutely no place in this world, regardless of what you think on the issue or Joyce as a CEO.
IMHO, the only mistake he's made is to pursue civil charges. If he really wants to champion the cause of acceptance, he'd have done well to let the police sort it out and not got involved.
Nothing would have been more dignified than indicating he wasn't going to pursue a civil case, because he'd much rather focus his efforts on positives of the cause.
A lost opportunity to take the moral high ground, methinks.

Not in my opinion there shouldn't.

Ever considered that if it weren't for pooftas, you probably wouldn't have a computer to type on.
And hey, as a result you might have even been speaking German now - or Japanese...
.Good on you mate.

The guy is a d**k, but far more so because he didn't pie the tool when he was conducting grandstanding operations during his epiphany 'let's shut the place down' speech.
Joyce is a vindictive jealous little man who harbours grudges and doesn't like looking like a fool - which is why he sacks anyone who does disagree with him. A mate told me it was on CNN in the US. He won't take this lying down and it will have shaken him.

Good on you Tartare,Ret and Slippery Pete. RENURPP did you know that Australias greatest ever Olympian and someone who you probably cheered wildly in 2000 is openly gay. Scary 'eh, wow.........
Ian Thorpe if you are having another senior moment.
Ian Thorpe if you are having another senior moment.
I couldn't give a rats hetro/homonsexual or whatever. It's 2017 and you like what you like. I don't think many people REALLY care, let's move on....
BUT I can't image a 'hetro' campaign pushed by an international airline, being particularly kosher with locals or very well regarded by anyone really. So why bother pushing at all is my question?
It's the wrong industry if your homophobic.

He should have been openly gay from the beginning, because those who knew him knew but didn't care. Take it from me, he was 'never' straight. But let's put the financial record straight, Thorpe has lost millions for himself, Joyce has made himself millions (likely 100 of them) while losing B (yes that's a B) billions for everyone else.
Nunc est bibendum
Given that was a group of people (rather than a lone individual), and they've refused to apologise, and their actions are consistent with bullying from other rainbow activist groups in recent times, I'm wondering why there's been such little condemnation of them?
