Can anyone shed some light on current workloads, rosters, QOL and hours for the two Jetstar bases being hired for? Is seniority still around 9 years for a command, give or take?
Am I correct in assuming the 2015 EBA is still in effect with an annual 3% CPI increase to date?

Paid from day one, type rating attracts a 3 year bond for return of service. Depending on where type rating is done can be up to 3 years bond which decreases with service. Transport, Hotel paid for and allowances for meals also. They moved away from self funded type ratings a few years ago and had plans to do everything in house but still send some people up to the UK and Singapore when required.

Thanks for your reply. So just to be clear, the only thing that is paid is accommodation, you're not given a per diem or anything of the sort for meals/etc whilst training?
You are not a Jetstar employee while you are training prior to induction. This is a very deliberate policy by HR to ensure that you don't have any claim against them if you don't pass the type rating or induction check flight. It is also why there is very little Jetstar content in the training but you are expected to be completely familiar with Jetstar procedures during the induction check. So from day one of your actual employment with Jetstar there is very little incentive or desire to embrace the whole "Jetstar family" BS.
Guy I started with had over 5000hrs on the 320, he still had to do the whole type rating. Only difference time on type will help with us line training. Might be reduced to 60hrs instead of the 80 or 100 hrs.

Can anyone shed light on when bases are allocated? Just curious if bases are assigned before you accept a job offer? Is mentioning you want a Melb base a big no-no during the interview? Also any guidance on how long a base transfer (Syd-Mel) would take? Thanks in advance all
