Pionair to operate Virgin Cargo BAe146's

Pionair will operate 2 BAe 146's for Virgin Cargo. Add in today's Australian for crew, based in Cairns, Melbourne or Adelaide.

The original plan for VARA to operate them has been shelved.

2 146 + 1 737-300,time frame was the issue with the VARA operation. Wet lease the solution, apparently.

Maybe the AFAP are wary of the advertisement for some reason? Rumour is pay for your own type ratings up front...

Nauru Airlines and Airwork are the ones most likely to operate the B737-300.

Pionair/ Skyforce Bae146

Pionair was the parent company of Skyforce aka Skyforce Australia which went into administration last year. Skyforce owned the Bae 146s. The Bae 146s have been at Bankstown for years. VH SIF is a QC and never got airbourne , whilst the other is the ex Vincent Aviation one. There is another QC owned by Skyforce in Europe which has been used for spares.

Yeah but how many 146 drivers, who aren't already employed as 146 drivers, want to fly a 146 on night freight?
