Last thing we want are more overseas pilots taking our jobs.
Simple really - the Qantas pilot’s union don’t want the great unwashed joining their list.

A pilot's union has about zero say on who gets employed at an airline. And as far as not wanting the "great unwashed'? Nonsense. QLink is currently the greatest supplier of new starts at mainline.

Correct. But they have 100% say about what other business units get added to the bottom of their list, and the use of ghost seniority numbers. My comment was about seniority numbers for Qlink pilots - go back and have a proper read.

Disheartening? How can you judge someone on their accent? For all you know he/she may have spent their whole life in Australia and done the time in GA.
Meeting the minimums is one thing, not being a toolbag is another. The blokes who are in GA and can’t get a look in are stuck there for a reason.

Give yourself an uppercut champ.

You'll be glad to know that particular pilot worked in the Australian GA industry for years both instructing and flying charter ops (including aero-medical chieftains).

Maybe your crap attitude is why you can't get a start!

MikeHatter732 and GCPilot who this bloke is, is completely irrelevant to the point. As has been discussed above, QLink are hiring foreigners to fill holes from their own lack of future planning in the training department and consequently locals are missing out. If you support Aussies missing out on these jobs give yourself an uppercut CHAMP

If you missed out, take a good look at yourself and your preoperation. There surely isn’t anyone who received the “unsuccessful” email confused as to why.
BASIC IF skills, some research on the behavioural interview. It’s not that hard.

If you have less than a 1000hrs and didn’t get the golden ticket with the uni program - GA byeee. See you in 2-3 years

Reduced starts? Do you mean number of pilots per course or frequency of the courses, or both?

Reduction in the number per ground school. Gone are the days of 15-20 - it’s just not feasible with the current personal. Most of which are waiting for a start from big brother.

Roundhouse I saw the list only yesterday and there are currently 6 listed for March. Don't ask me their names.
