Trainee F/O

Hi all, I have around 300 hours, CPL and about to finish my ATPL theory. Given my low time iím on the fence as to doing my MECIR to become eligible for application, does anyone have guidance as to wether Q-Link have accepted or would accept a trainee F/O with these kind of hours?

They are still recruiting Trainee FOs with fresh MECIRs.

So the strawpoll is sittng at around 70 votes so far. Looks like an even spread of Trainees and DE. 1-3 months votes is dominating along with 12+ months votes, so it seems many are still being put on the hold file recently even though there's a long list already on the file.

February 2019 Interviews

Earlier this year there was quite a flurry of interviews. Hopeful candidates came from far and wide, 23 in one day alone!

just curious as to how many were given offers. Either for the hold file, or heaven forbid, a start date?

Well the thread has gone quiet, but not recruitment it seems. Qlink are advertising for Direct Entry F/Oís again.

Has there been a significant reduction of the hold file?

My assessment was completed earlier this year and I received a spot on the hold file about 3 months back now.

81 votes so far with quite a range of waiting times. Does anyone know of any candidates that have been on hold then been given the "thanks but no thanks" or invited to re-interview after a certain amount of time?

It's been quite a while since anyone has posted here, just wondering if people have heard anything?

Thereís still slow but steady recruitment happening. Not as busy as last year, but not dead. I would say itís probably been 2:1 direct entry to cadets recruited. It seems anyone who was on the hold file previously that didnít have direct entry requirements or wasnít a traineeship level 1 (UNSW, 200 hours etc) is being overlooked. Forecasted to be steady recruitment for the foreseeable future as people progress through to mainline, Jetstar etc.

Point of order:

People do not progress to mainline, Jetstar etc. They have to resign from their current role and if successful, start at the bottom of the new entity.

The main reason for recruiting hitting a brick wall currently is the 3 cancelled courses at mainline (sep-nov).

No resignation involved. Transfer from one to the other with sick leave, LSL, staff travel seniority all recognised from the original date. Yes you go to the bottom of AOC seniority list, but thatís just because every airline has their own system for seniority. Itís not an employment related thing to be transferred, just an individually used system for promotion etc.

So looks like the Trainee Level 2 dropped off the careers page... Just direct entry remains...
