YMML HIALS
Went out to the site and noticed that the approach lights have been knocked down (literally) for RW16... (Perp to rw so it wasnt an ac!)
This part of the displaced threshold work?
Seems odd to knock down the lights before new ones are up?
On the displaced threshold, (700 feet?) is this for some operational reasoning, or to just move the pavement wear to a different location?

oops...sorry on the hail vs hial...no way to correct that in pprune..
I am just curious why you would remove the lights before new ones were installed...
RW16 is the best game in town...
Yes there is!!!! Done.

How would they install the new lights.. with the old ones still in place?
Tried that at home?
On further reading, they are being replaced with LEDs.

There are survey markers all over the place for new lights...or some sort of system.
Much different configuration...heard it was a gantry type system rather than individual light mountings...
That is why I was wondering why....
If you dont know, then simply dont comment.
