VUB has just rolled out of the TL paintshop in full Tigerair colours. It's due to ferry to ML shortly.

Tiger's OTP for last FY was comparable to Jetstar and the cancellation rate was much lower.

This calendar year most months Tiger is doing better than Jetstar.

Big improvement from times gone by.

Judging by media reports and comments elsewhere, they couldn't have gotten any worse: the only way was up.

No doubt.

But in all honesty, yes Tiger is well known for having terrible on time performance in the past, but that is the past. There's been a lot of changes there and it's a much different airline from what it was.

With lower cancellation rates and at most times better OTP than Jetstar (if you consider the network size and fleet size of both, it's certainly no easy task keeping those figures where they are for Tiger), maybe it's time to give it a rest?

Anyway, what does a 737 painted in Tiger colours have to do with improving their OTP anyway?

Because that 737, along with another 2 or 3 I believe, are owned and operated by Virgin. Crewed by VAA pilots and Tiger CC. It will be used exclusively on the Bali runs to compete against 787 and A330's. Good luck with that.

I would like to know what that TT 737 will do in the 3 months before TT Bali ops commence. And what the 3 aircraft will do in the 50% of the time they are not needed on the TT DPS ops. Will they fly Tigerair Domestic flights? And how would Tigerair pilots respond to that?

For many years Air Pacific leased a QF B747 200 and even a QF B747 100 in FJ colours. QF crew often flew it on QF runs and FJ often borrowed a QF one in QF colours. Initially AIPA and AIFEA objected but in the end everyone benefited.

That's commercial reality and if the Tiger crews have a problem with that then they aren't very realistic.

To be honest, Porch Monkey, I don't see how it will work without VAI flying at least MEL-ADL vv on behalf of Tigerair. VAI crews certainly wouldn't be 'undercutting' TT crews in this regard.

I would like to hear the unions' position on this, and if Tigerair pilots want to add their 2c I'm all ears.
