I find most of those J-class dog-box affairs claustrophobic. I preferred the old shared-compartment idea - the whole J-class experience really peaked around the late '90s for me and has got progressively worse since.

Oh and sitting in 1F aisle right side I couldn't see out of any window without getting up and looking over my shoulder.

Hated it...

Re TAA and A320

It might have been options or similar, but I remember reading about an order and seeing the mandatory aircraft model and signing of papers in the TN staff magazine my father brought home. This was around the time AN ordered them, after not before though.

They were cancelled or whatever the correct term is when the 737-400 was ordered instead.

TAA were interested in the A320 but wanted Airbus to increase its size up to 160 pax.....

Read this page I found.

I haven't flown in the new J seats but they certainly look like ****. The woodgrain laminex reminds me of that Winnebago meth lab in "Breaking Bad". Also, the reclined passenger is only a few inches above the floor level, and as ACMS points out, trapped inside the seat once reclined.

In late 1985 TAA ordered 9 x A320's for delivery between April 89 and June 90. James Strong later decided the B737-400 was a better option due to compatibility with the B737-300 which commenced service in July 1986 in Australian Airlines colours.

Have had a few of the paying punters commenting on new Dom J class in a very positive manner

EA Voting is open

Anyone care to gaze into the crystal ball and tip the result?

I'm guessing 70/30 YES

I think the EK boys wanting to come home should update the logbook and standby for a call.

60/40 in favour, I think also.
Seniority of 1000 or more: yes vote; looking at the rhetoric on Qrewroom, most of those in 3 figures will vote no.

Agree with you Fatguy, I alluded to this in the 787-900 thread some months ago.
Don't forget, there isn't an airline exec anywhere who wouldn't sell their mother's pacemaker, especially if there's a bonus in it for them. I wouldn't put it past these people to start a greenfields op and basically crew it with mercs.
Who knows, one day maybe a QF flight will be crewed by Uighurs & North Koreans, forget about Level 6 English, the only thing these guys will have in common is that they hate each other.

Reason enough for me to vote this EBA up.

Yes 80/20. The same Doomsayers are always there in that other place. Noisy but no numbers in The House.

I'll go with 66% yes. Most the no champions on Doom Room seem adept at demanding "more" but less able to articulate how/why it can be obtained or any other alternative plan apart from being angry or just playing politics. If anyone could reduce P's thousand word essays of waffle into something understandable I might guess 60% yes.

Yeah, why use 50 words when 500 will do...?

This is the same P that voted to say he supported and endorsed the package, and since then has been explaining at great length why he absolutely doesn't support or endorse the package?

Thumbs up

I originally predicted 85% yes. 70/30 or slighlty less would be my new guess. Somewhere close to 2/3.

60-65% for a "yes" vote is my guess.
