A new type is coming for mainline. That's what this whole EA is about. For those of us left with the hope of some kind of a career in this airline, we should pray that people who want to feather their own nests for the last few years of their careers don't stuff it for everyone

Transferring to PPRUNE the reference to this individual is weak or politically motivated? Have the discussion with him 'man to man'. He has left his contact number after all. We all have valuable input.
You are suggesting his attitude and others like it will 'stuff it'. I'm not willing to call it that way yet... But he has given me things to think about.
More than one of these such individuals you speak of has suggested the potential problems created through redeployment during its introduction. A large RIN which may result in significant salary reductions for affected crews. This of course is not a concern for those in short haul but appropriate redeployment clauses I suspect could feature in a successful new EBA.
But I believe, as another Qrewroom poster wrote, it's best to just relax and wait to debate the known rather than the unknown.

My point was that there are many who couldn't give a toss about whether we get them or not. They just want to ensure that if a new toy arrives, they can have a play without losing any cash, and if the new toy goes elsewhere, who cares, they'll just see out their careers on whatever type they're on. Any reference to a 'win/win' is simply a reference to making sure if the 747 or 380'disappear and they are RIN'd, they don't lose any cash'.
That is the attitude that has been portrayed. Before any deal has been reached. if anyone thinks these senior blokes care about your careers, you're kidding yourself. They want nothing more than to ensure they roll into the sunset on their current conditions, regardless of the implications for the rest of us.

Goodonyamate, as a senior person in the organization, I have canvassed the views and feelings of my peers and have come to the general feeling the the overwhelming majority do care about the careers of their fellow crew members and the health and prosperity of QAL. Not just themselves. Your last post is far from the truth and I find your last 2 sentences extremely offensive and untrue. If that is how you really think and feel, then perhaps it is not myself and my peers that need to adjust our thinking, but you yourself. Maybe you need to do some soul searching and adjust your thing so that it is in tune with reality.

Is there actually any announcement due in the near future re fleet plans. The only thing I have seen of late is that one of the 747s going to the desert is now up for a D Check.

Somebody is telling furfies about fleet utilisation in mainline. There is no way the 737 fleet is averaging or will average 12.6 hours per day. Page 125. At the moment it's flat out doing 6 hours per day. If this is the case and this projected increase is correct then I can't see the current staffing levels being anywhere near what they will be required to be. I call it as B.S.

With OQF U/S till end-June & planned heavy maintenance, QFI will "run out of a/c" to fill its current schedule in two weeks.
EBA agreed in principle. Committee briefings this week. If it's voted up all 50 787s to come to long haul the first due next year.
Well done to those on both the AIPA and QF sides here.
Have you got that from a good source? I've only ever heard that they are arriving from mid 2017.
