Ollie is that 150 number for the Air NZ group or purely Jet recruitment?

Not sure about that mate, the returning that is.Where I'm at we have 6 in the Captain seat, and yes,we'd like to come home,no to going back to the right seat, tough to do at this stage, especially since all of us have a little less than 10 years left.Might as well pad the bank account and enjoy the ride. For those flying the Asian scene,(when I was there)most wanted home, but not keen on going back to the right seat. One must sleep in the bed that one makes

What PB said, I have plenty of expat kiwi (like me) mates spread around on the world on 320/330/350/380's of whom all have expressed a desire to return home, but who all apart from maybe one or two either can't afford too aka PB etc etc or don't want to move back to the right seat after flogging themselves to get a command somewhere else.
The pull of the Koru tail might be strong for some, but for many that ship has sailed.

Anyone have any idea when the latest round was? Guess with the hiring drive things might be a bit backlogged in HR.

Last I heard was 200 a year for the next four years, just for growth. Then they have to figure out what to do when the top third of the seniority list retire by 2022, the top half by 2025.

So over the next 4 years they plan on hiring 800 pilots for growth? Based on your numbers how many extra aircraft is this? Remembering NZ only has 950 pilots at the moment and around 50 jets. Are they planning on expanding by 40+ jets in 4 years?

Or are you talking about Link and jet numbers?

Just repeating what I was told from a very reliable source, but didn't distinguish between jet fleet or group wide figures.

This is a rumour network after all.

Any worse than the same one that has been happening each year for about the past 5 years?
