Take a look at Joke MEL that place is an utter disorganized shambles!
The expansion going on down the southern end of the apron/taxiway area is taking a zillion years to construct (typical Aussie way of doing business.....sloooowly!) yet the new carpark infrastructure outside T4 is ripping along, these people are clever they know where the money is.
$180 for 14 days car park in a multi story level, Christ is this one of the most expensive countries to live in or what?

Capt Cook (Ex QF Capt no doubt) should have missed the place & done the world a favour, it's his fault we now live in a expensive corrupt society

From conversations I've had in recent years with several knowledgeable people,
one of the changes introduced at privatised Airports has been to change from a scheduled maintenance regime to a "Fix it when it breaks" approach.
Sometimes cost savings come at a "Cost"
Shame the travelling public and Airlines suffer as result.

And Wally, those same people that pay $180 to park their car, expect to pay $70 for their ticket to fly to where ever it is they are going to. That's how we got into the mess we are currently in.

Parking at SEA:
General is $28/day or $392 for 14.
Terminal direct is $35/day or $490 for 14 days

$180 is cheap!

I understand that $180 is cheap when compared to the extortionate type tactics these monopoly dromes have but Christ 12-15 Sq Mtrs of space for that cost is highway robbery due being a captive market!

OH don't worry 'sops' I agree completely the Airlines are their worst own enemies at times! They continually undercut each other in an attempt to drive their opposition out of the game but ultimately end up hurting themselves, the fundamental basics of business (to make their product simply more attractive & not always thru being cheaper either)went out the window a long time ago with the idiot Airlines we have!
These fools (the Airlines) have gotta go back to basics here providing a service for a fee that's sustainable & seeing as they are now not capable doing that some form of intervention needs to be undertaken in order to save what jobs that are left for this ailing shameful country of ours, that intervention needs to be a strong Govt ('cause the Airlines have shown how useless they are!!), something we won't likely see in our lifetime sadly!

Wally,

I agree!

Slight thread drift, airlines should also bring in dress standards! Sick of seeing the great unwashed coming on board in their best pluggers and thongs

Cashed up bogans sitting in Business using FF points from FiFo flights to upgrade into Business, then put their feet up on the bulkhead

(Meanwhile crew get to pax in the last row if you work for a certain airline and other business seats are empty)

Then there are cattle class pax..........

Bring in the requirement to dress well and start charging a decent amount for a ticket.

It is not only the airlines in the race go the bottom.

To complete the statement...
those same people that pay $180 to park their car, expect to pay $70 for their ticket to fly to where ever it is they are going to
... where the same ticket previously would have cost $400...

Are you telling me that with constant increased demand for the service since its inception, that cost to the consumer should have gone up!?!?

I always wondered where we (as an industry) had gone wrong...

As for dress standards - oh if only!

Artwork at Entrance

Every time I use the main entrance at the international terminal I cringe at the sight of the metal "artwork" outside. It just looks like a pile of rusting metal. Goodness knows what overseas visitors might think of it. I wish the whole mess could be removed.
