I gave up after 20 minutes. Something about the noise coming out of both Clifford and Joyces' mouths gives me a headache. I am assuming the thread title should be changed to "Alan's very happy" when it came to the "bonuses all round" part?

Spot on. I wish I could get a job where I was rewarded with such a large salary for been totally incompetent. This blokes a bit like poor old Gough Whitlam and actually believes he's done a great job.

QF mate of mine just passed AJ in the street in MELB and he didn't look too happy.
I told my mate he should have tripped the little s*** up.

The fact that there is so little commentary and outrage shows the strategy has worked, so the bonuses flow and the end game is near whatever that is. They simply wore everyone down until there is next to no interest so they can do what they want

Hope I am wrong.

Appears to be that way, although AJ & Clifford better be right with their predictions come next Feb.. Note the media where shut out today for interviews with management.

Nick X did you all proud by sticking up for the Qantas staff, he has gone out of his way this year to get the answers that still remain on many peoples lips, but he did rattle Clifford a few times today regarding the unanswered questions from the two senate inquires regarding disclosure matters with the institutional investors v mum and dad shareholders.

Feels like the great swindle (suspected cost shifting) has worked, book value v real value. I don't think now we will ever find out the real dollar value generated from the Jetstar Asian ventures.

I think this shows the mind set -

Particularly the comment from the chairman in the last sentence.

Qantas still has a hold on former boss Geoff Dixon

Geoffrey sounds busy.

AJ is so predictable.

A week ago he announced the airline was "on track" to return to profit.

This week QF Short Haul Pilots reject the EBA with the 18 months pay freeze.

JQ pilots look set to reject their EBA.

QF Longhaul pilots will soon commence negotiations.

I'm predicting AJ will respond at some time, saying the damaging actions of the pilot labour force are jeopardising the airlines financial recovery.

MC.

From what I understood, the JQ pilot EBA was on-track to be voted up. Is this not the case?

More negative comments than positive ones at this stage, from all reports should be voted down.

Already the lowest paid Narrow Body / Wide Body pilots in the industry and the offer on the table is a PAY CUT????

I think it has 2 chances of getting voted up.

Popgun, think you'll find that award (excuse the pun) goes to another part of the Qantas Group.

Sound familiar Alan?

.....
“Eddie Lampert, the CEO of Sears, is one of the best contenders for the Corporate Darwin Award. He’s an Ayn Rand-loving, free-market ideologist who attempted to take this out of the lobbyist/Congress-rigged world of hedge funds and into retail. He laid off, cut, and trimmed back everything he could and forced departments, managers, and employees to fight against each other for resources and pay believing that the company would benefit from a ‘survival of the fittest’ atmosphere. Since that time, Sears has lost half its value in five years and has closed more than half of its stores, not to mention damaged one of the oldest and most trusted brands in the history of the United States.”

Alan's new ad campaign.
Qantas launches 'Feels Like Home' ad campaign

A good message, however I think the ad misses the mark.

Misses the mark alright!
Couple of red tails ,nothing about Australia and nothing about Qantas except a conjuring of melancholy shrouded in a wet blanket of emotions. I predict it will be lambasted in the media. Hope I'm wrong but....?

I like it. Passengers are often saying they 'are home' when they get on board. I think they have brought the emotion that many Ausies feel for Qantas, into an Ad campaign (again...I still call Australia home...)

I think they've done a good job with that advert. It attaches strong emotions that most can relate to , to the brand = successful advert.

Once you have seen all 5 ads separately, you might change your mind.

It's pretty obvious this ad campaign is for the Domestic market and not designed for International markets.
