So JQ come off BNE PER (which waren for you,it's bne crew) leaving the 'premium' 'mainline' 'business class' 'not dual brand' on the route and seem to still not be appeased?

Come on wazza. Isn't the aim to do the least flying for the most money. Old mates probably the highest paid skipper on a pay vs hours flown in the country.
Plenty of time off with the reduced flying and still gets to go to Bali and Singapore to enjoy Summer.

This is all part of rapid fire cost cutting initiatives aimed at taking $2 billion in costs out of the airline over the next three years as it seeks to stem the flow of losses from its international division and revive the performance of its domestic operations.
In the first six months of the 2014 financial year the airline lost $250 million and there are expectations that the full year loss could hit a mammoth $1 billion.
Qantas has undertaken two debt issues over the past month in order to pay down more short term debt and is expected to bolster its cash levels via the partial sell down of its Frequent Flyer loyalty business.
It appears they are pulling all the levers at once all of a sudden... of course they will say it is all part of the big plan.. so far slow and poorly executed.. in seems the drip drip of bad news just rolls on and on...

Must be a horrible place to work at present... stress city.. so sad, and all so unnecessary..

says it all.. a great example, of how to mask what is really going on..

Anyone heard from AJ, OW, LS or SH this week?

Oh, thats right there was a message from the Executive Manager People about "begreen" day. But that's about it.

Seems to have been incredibly quite from the "Leaders" of the Qantas Group as their pilots are notified of impending demotions.

BeGreen day............meh

That Head of People only sends emails for that, when there are big sackings and the occasional staff travel bonus. That is it..........another waste of an entire department "HR"

Well LS was down in Hobart last week for the pullout of mainline (again) and the launch of the 'new' (ex-Mexico) 717s. Locals noted the touch of irony with the logo jet of the Tassie Devil (you know, the one dying out with the cancerous tumour...)

Pull Up,

I was told the other day that that they are pulling out of NYC and heading back to SFO (Round how many with returning to SF? ). My response was "Doesn't QF make ridiculous amounts of money with freight on the 107/108?", "Yes".

Thats why we don't run airlines, our common sense and logic gets in the way.

Unhappy

Supposedly we are pulling out of New York in September.
If true, I bet it's about being able to retire an extra aeroplane and cover the rest of the flying with one less hull.

heading back to SFO
I haven't heard anything about SFO. All I heard we will be pulling out of New York. Supposedly New York travellers will go via Dallas and be code shared with American Airlines.

We will be flying an A380 to Dallas in October. Don't know how that is going to work...
