A typical weak as water " searching " interview from Steve Creedy. Do your job properly pal. Not holding my breath though

Are we looking at the next CEO of Qf here?
The timing is highly suspicious.

If the major shareholders and Board think they can take a child from the wayward family, and one who is knee deep in all things Asian, then they are even more stupid than has been contemplated here before.

I heard recently in the corridors that JH was a front runner.

Unbelievable if true- just more of the same

Wouldn't surprise me though

That might be the case under the current Board and pathetic Chairman but when this thing finally unravels, and I think it will soon, there will be bodies disappearing everywhere and people like JH will just be caught in the bristles of the big broom that will sweep through the leftovers when the new Chairman/Chairwomen takes control.

Hopefully it won't be to late and this whole thing is still salvageable.

If there is going to be a new board and chairman, it had better happen real quick, or there will be nothing left to fix.

Unhappy Jane is the next Elaine

The mantra has been established with the Board that the right experience for the CEO of Qantas Airways is LCC experience through Jetstar - that is why Jane is there doing nothing other than ticking the box, holding the fort and developing the public face that will make the progression seem uncontroversial.

Have a look at the role Jane played in the last visit of the Elaine and Jane show to the Senate - such frequent deferral was part of the plan.

I was just reading the story of Channel Ten's woes in the SMH. It all sounds so familiar...the media version of Qantas.

I agree that we certainly need a new board prior to signing any golden handshake deals with JH as a new CEO. It just prolongs the failed theory that any MBa is good enough to run any business. Pesky details don't matter:ideology and spin are everything.

I am off to have a big meal...Having just heard from Jayne that it is possible to grow within my existing footprint without expansion! Its like magic!

And have a look at the utter contempt she displayed when answering questions from the senators. I could not believe someone could display such rudeness and arrogance in such a setting, the chair should have thrown her out. She then began looking at her watch time and time again, obviously too important for a senate hearing.

Seriously? Can we just discuss the issues without resorting to that sort of juvenile crap? My 11 year old knows that when you resort to that sort of stuff the argument is already lost. Perhaps some here should remember that.

Well she keeps using her family as a reason she sends the other managers to do things. You never see her on a Jetstar flight to Japan, she has to get Qantas because of her 'family schedule'. She uses it when it is convenient - if her family is a major concern, she won't put her hand up.

But bigger question - what has she actually done since taking over from Bruce? QF gifted her a 787...........what else? No mention of the other Jetstar ventures failing badly.

At least Joyce achieved something as JQ CEO - JQ made a lost last half year and have been going backwards. If the board pick a CEO based on performance, that would be a worry

The next CEO should be external or else it will be more of the same

Can't wait to read the book that's currently being written about the demise of Qantas. Raking through damning senate hearings, ASX statements and a myriad of media releases that show the management for what they really are. The chapter on the grounding will be very interesting. Not sure when it will be published but it will be a best seller.

JH has certainly been throwing her weight around.

I've been told of meetings between AJ, JH, LS and that elusive SH. That QF aren't permitted to engage in any changes to the status quo unless JH approves it.

In short, if QF propose any changes within the mainline operation. JH has the authority to veto such changes if it has a negative impact on the JQ group.

I thinks it quite clear of their intended direction, Down the toilet and around the S bend.
