All Qantas employees want is a leader we can follow.
438 - It's business as usual, we've been told that by the QF INTL CP.

Im pleased to see that whilst (possible) redundancies are happening & austerity measures in place AJ hosted a dinner at Pier one Sydney for 70 "friends of Qantas" last Thursday Night.

It is just like the rubbish the spurted out in that other year. They just can't help themselves, just tell what ever lies or half truths it takes to keep lining their own pockets.

Someone needs to start a petition at change.org to discredit or remove the aviation experts title.

He is not an expert, he is an amatuer enthusiast who acts as a mouth piece for media releases from QF media.

He probably doesn't even know what a thronomeister is

Is this worth consideration, for the broader QF picture? If nothing else than to fully gauge the depth and extent of feeling throughout a community broader than but also including PPRuNe? The extent of the groundswell may surprise.

I gave up my 'sharp end' many years ago but have maintained a keen interest from down the back ever since. My commiserations to the folks on here for the needless anguish; I have some good mates who are proud to fly - in various roles - for the 'roo, and this 'death by a thousand cuts' is heartbreaking to observe.

Suddenly JQ has opened its books for F/O's. Make of that what you will.

Hang on. They are offering LWOP to captains and looking for F/Os? Something is not adding up here.

My email has gone, with full name and address. However I also mentioned the rot started with Dixon, and has never recovered. Ok with you? Richo, right now on SKY, is giving Joyce a bullocking. And how, and he is ripping into him for Jetstar Asia. Gooooooooooooo Richo.

601,774 views to this thread!

Wow! That really says something about just how many people see this situation as of major importance when there are over 600 000 views of it on one forum alone.

But then again....it could just be that only 437 people viewed the thread multiple times....let me see now.....*601,744/437=1376.988 times each(rounded off of course).

*calculation carried out to save troll effort.

I think we ought to lay off Mr Thomas. He's a pretty cluey bloke - after all, he knows stuff about QF pilots' T&Cs that no QF pilot knows. Stuff that doesn't even appear in the Determination (I just tried a word search on 'vegetables' and drew a blank), so that's seriously deep knowledge there. It's just a shame that this didn't come out earlier, or we mightn't be in such dire straits now. I can only shudder at the damage caused by nigh-on 50 years of unfettered Vegetable-Eating by greedy pilots. Still, it may not be too late - if we can stop fretting about Alan's minor strategic missteps and instead concentrate on conserving his precious Vegetables, we may save Qantas yet.

It's time for us collectively to ground our airline. If Joyce can do it then so should the staff for the good of Qantas.
Shorten should be all over this. The little guy against the big corporate arse holes. I abhor every thing about them. No ethics no integrity no morality.

I dare say tomorrow night's 7:30 report should be interesting if AJ indeed turns up for it.

Fliegenmong, and your solution is? You appear to be taking it personally, with all your pollie hates. I don't need to tell you the airline is in deep ****e, you are not going to get money from either the Govt. or the Opposition, indeed I imagine the Opposition/Unions, will come out with their usual solution, and order tools down, once the numbers are known. Always helps. And if they do, Joyce has a reason to pull the plug, and this time it will not be for two days. And then we will have a crisis of mammoth proportions in this country. Mate, I have been in this industry for nearly fifty years, have been belted by the best, (Hawke) Seen Govts. come and go, have had two airlines go under me, and had to leave the country, and yet was still able to fly on, and go when it suited me, not some bastard telling me to go. And this is the aim here. A solution so you blokes and girls can keep your jobs, and fly on. So back to your solution, lets have it.

Well...uh....I don't have one (a solution) Ida.....I've a few ideas, and they're closely aligned to a lot here, three posters above me suggest shutting down the airline in this instance!

As a keen follower here and in the Oz Politics thread I am astonished at how fast the ABC is admonished for perceived (sometimes correctly) left wing bias, and yet here they, seemingly the only media outlet telling it how it really is, and actually giving air time to those who will never be...cough cough...chairmans lounge members......(and really thinking about it, unless you were a sporting / entertainment type, would you not look at yourself and think what kind of person am I that LC wants to reward me??

a question for those with a bit more knowledge....

if the 767 is retired earlier, would it be possible for QF to convert 787 orders to 737's to pick up the slack? I know the current 737's are not being utilised anywhere near their optimum amount but to keep the flexibility, maybe more planes required.

am hearing stories of all 787 canned, jq international being shrunk and 330's still coming back to mainline, with additional 737's to fill the gaps

the 730 report statement of 'separate companies' was interesting.....if indeed there are pilot redundancies, I wonder if the separate company thing is something they will use to try and get around seniority.

whatever happens, it's going to be a legal minefield, the only winners being the lawyers...

Lol JQ offering Parc contracts for 10K US a month..
Something tells me its a smokescreen for something else as the pay rate is 30-50% less than the going rate for a 320 Skipper.
Joyce and his henchmen up to tricks me thinks..

Its going to be a long night, regardless if you are QF or JQ, and for those who want to know what is happening early, Sky from 0800 tomorrow is going to run a commentary on "The Nation" as things unfold. My wife and myself, wish everyone of you, health, wealth and happiness, as we await to hear your future, the future of our National Carrier, and those of our own children, who like most of you, have mortgages, children, commitments. And all employed by QF and JQ. Good luck to you all, you did not deserve this.
