EK operate A380's SYD & MEL to AKL.

They are commencing A380 services BNE to AKL in October.

EK have also announced A380 services Dubai to ADL.

Joining the dots, I wouldn't think an A380 service ADL - AKL would be far away.

I know which one i'd rather travel on.

There isn't any talk of the 380 doing ADL or an ADL Tasman shuttle, though both are possible. A shuttle would require a rework of the schedule. (ADL curfew)

It would certainly kill J*, that's for sure.

From Jetstar's presser:

Jetstar Group Chief Commercial Officer David Koczkar said the launch delivers the first direct low fares flights between the two destinations
My memory tells me that the work experience kiddies should do some research before they make such claims. I could be wrong but I think JQ's claim is incorrect. Does anyone else have a less fallible recall?

Happy Bandit

Stuff

Read the third last paragraph.

With the EK / QF alliance on the Tasman, QF (read JC) business class fares on the Tasman dropped by 49% to match the fares offered by EK.

Before making a derisive statement like that Ken Doll maybe you should do some research.

Nice. So over 11 hours of duty there assuming the crews do it return. Few yawns happening on descent into Auckland?

Are Jetstar making a new push into ADL? I noticed they have started a daily DRW - ADL- DRW return during the day, I thought there was a Qantas flight that did the same ( well sort of ADL-DRW-ADL) , has this been replaced?

Better than the AKL - ZQN - MEL - AKL duty. Apparently thats about 12hrs!!

Well within CAO 48 as they sign on at 6am and ONLY do 3 sectors!!!

Thanks for the exemption CASA it's good to see you have safety as the No1 priority.

Angel

Two routes will be cut:
Singapore to Beijing ends 30 Nov and Singapore to Osaka ends 1 Nov

So that's where the aircraft is coming from to start Mel-Hkt and add too Mel-Hnl

I dont think one service a day AKL-ADL-AKL is going to set any new records.

There's a distinct lack of choice when it comes to flexible departure times.

If the direct service doesn't suit, comparing the fares one stop on BOTH Jetstar & full service indicates a price difference of only $11 one way.

Full service for an additional $11 is a no brainer.
