So, seats recline by 180 degrees? That sounds more like sitting upside down facing aft than lying flat!

Will Australia's flag carrier be visiting "third world" countries with cutting edge aircraft anytime soon?

Air India ok to oz but not Japan??
So, Air India have sent the plastic fantastic down under, with CASA approval of course...
Air India resumes direct flights to Australia - Channel NewsAsia
BUT Japan have banned the Air India 787's from the airpsace due to poor maintenance standards?
Air India B787s 'banned' from Japan - Business Traveller
Another example of Australian aviation standards on the decline?

Dreamliner arrives in Melbourne
Pic gallery of Boeing 787 arriving in Melbourne. Not only the first scheduled Dreamliner service to Australia, but the first direct Air India flight to Australia in 16 years.

I only noticed the EPP (Electric Plastic Plane) plane 2day nestled in amongst the big boys at the TullaIinternational terminal due it's odd colour scheme, Had it not been for that we probably would have sailed (taxied) right past it & not noticed a thing!
Almost an anti climax:-(

Japan isn't exactly foreigner friendly, it could just be that they want their own airlines to fly the routes.

Looking at pics from another site ( Sydney airport spotters) I was impressed by the wing flex on take-off. The extent of the flex really does remind me of a bird.
Whatever one may think of the Dreamliner it sure is a beauty

Knowing what I know about Indian aviation, I wouldn't let them anywhere near my airspace, given a choose. Not in a million years.
Japan, the master race of Asia. Shame their red tape didn't stop the clowns building nuclear power stations right on the pacific rim of fire.

The Yanks do that too, don't they?
........or was 'rim of fire' a reference to Indian curry?
Anyway, it's pretty awesome that Australia opens the gates to anyone with spare change. At least the Japanese have integrity.
We are fast becomming white trash, aren't we

Japan must have enough cab drivers.
Either that or the ghee stains in the lounges upset them.
Some of their fares are very competitive - BUT - the connections into Europe suck in a lot of cases.
We have a total of 98 Airline "plates" and just for now I am not fighting for the AI authorisation.
I do have a genuine "Sahib" bowing statuette in the office, part of their earlier and quite clever advertising.
If nothing else, more competiton can't hurt fares, but on the other hand it does impact profitability for the incumbents.
Best all

Yeah, but its the race to the bottom that pisses me most, Loco
..... We'll all be in the trailer park real soon if the airfares get too much lower
