And when they rolled Sabre out they connected with world On the seventh day John reflected, if you build it they will come........

And the board reflected.........A CEO who isn't an inarticulate gimp, who can communicate, who transformed an airline to one with class and integrity and still turned a profit.

And the passengers sit in airport lounges and reflect on the choice they now have and know that the CEO would NEVER shut down the airline to impress his arsehole mates in the HR Nicholls Society.............

Jack Ranga does present a rather compelling argument.

Especially this bit-

And the passengers sit in airport lounges and reflect on the choice they now have and know that the CEO would NEVER shut down the airline to impress his arsehole mates in the HR Nicholls Society.............

Knew there'd be a few comments like this!

Just glad JB is not! There has to be some cost when repositioning a companies strategy.

Sour grapes?

I'm not surprised that Virgin won. As poms dunnunda these last 5 weeks, we've flown Jit Kinict NZ-OZ, and within OZ, QF once, Jitstar once and Virgin 3 times.

No question in my mind - Virgin wins hands down for all round customer service. I've seen QF domestic go downhill over the last 15 years we've been doing this regularly and VA maintain and better the very high standard it started with.

The less said about Jitstar the better. Our flight HBA-MEL was an hour late for starters due late incoming, the landside check in hadn't weeded out those who were trying to slide oversize/weight handbaggage on, and we had to wait airside while a huge queue of them were sorted out. The two girls were doing their best, but needed about three more on boarding duty. On arrival in MEL we had to wait for about 10 minutes for some staff to be found to bring out the wheelie bins with the flagged ropes so we could walk to the terminal.

Jit Kinnict aircraft must be the tattiest cabins I've seen for a long time.

I haven't flown Tiger.

Yet, still a profit without the need for $125million from Boeing to make it look like it....

I fly as a passenger regularly.

For what its worth, my opinion:

Tiger - Never used them.

Jetstar - Long check in usually, rarely have meals for purchase available, terrible seat pitch, pleasant enough crew and Qantas like baggage return (could be fast, could take 45 minutes).

QANTAS - I LOVE the automated check in / bag drop! The lounge is average, I usually don't bother (if I had to pay for it I wouldn't) and the on board meals are either a snack (yeah right or something to skip). Some of the cabins are really tatty now, particularly the seats on the 767 (although they are being refurbished). If you get one of the new 737 with the individual TV's, they are great! Baggage return is a lottery in that it can take 5 minutes or 45 minutes.

Virgin Blue / Australia - Check in is an area for improvement. Bag drop is just that. If you want to change your seat, then go to check in. Crew are OK but cabins range from tatty to bewildering (no in-flight entertainment at the moment - I understand it's coming), meals the same as Jetstar, but bag return usually very quick.

All travel for business so I don't pay.
