Wasn't this type of thing done before? Create more management teams by duplication, increase (double) costs for these to exist yet when these duplicated come in they try to make a big name for themselves and cut costs like an Afghani farmer at the beginning of the opium harvest.

At least one good thing comes of it.

Don't let the door hit you on the mangina, out you go

The plot thickens!

Report also of Emirates and Qantas beginning to talk. Good for QF domestic, not good for QF Int.

Bruce Buchanan...

What a truly great contribution to Australian Aviation.

Now lets hope we never see a piece of human refuse like this again!

not good for QF Int
Why not? Maybe having a CEO to concentrate purely on the business that has been neglected and unfairly vilified; the business that BUILT the QF reputation, will be a good thing.

Bye Bruce.... it was.... interesting..... (a silent prayer of thanks that he was not inflicted on the whole group..)

I have just read BB's message to staff announcing his departure and am simply lost for words. If he truly believes what he has written then the man is simply demented. It truly is scary that so many peoples' livelihood were under control of this 'person'.

And then gives his new company a plug, complete with website link at the end?

Classy.

One of the first businesses I plan to help expand in Asia is Vanessa Megan (home), an Australian organic skincare business
I can’t wait to help share this wonderful Australian product and brand with the world.
Hahahahahahaha, from aviation to skin care. What a f**king clown.

It truly is scary that so many peoples' livelihood were under control of this 'person'.
Truer words have never been said.

I would be worried if I got "allocated" to QF International. Wonder if it will be a vessel for change or change in employment contracts for pilots and f/a's.

Duplication of management (I can hear the clink of champgne flutes) and another layer of patsies under AJ when things dont turn out well.

This move is designed to be able to wind up / sell off QF international or Qf domestic.

Can't see any other rationale.

What we'll do next is paint the Qantas Domestic tails blue to mark the differentiation. Then we will emphasise the 'Australian Airline' aspect of it in the branding. Genius!

Vanessa's Marine Collagen Intensive Night Cream comes in at just over $2000 per litre...

Not exactly the same "low cost" market Capt Bruce is custom to.

Perhaps there is still some value in the premium market and some are starting to realise it.

And all jokes aside,

What does this move by Qantas mean for it's pilots...

Will there be movement between long haul and short haul or are they now a completely separate company???

Joyce is pedalling like crazy, he has to because he told everyone he was going to fix the business. Well the full service carrier in Singapore has disappeared, Hongkong Jetstar has gone real quiet, so now we have a restructure (as pointed out more exspensive managers). The trouble is for all the pedalling we arnt even staying still we are going backwards. When will the lunatics on the board wake up? If ever?

A quick review of Vanessa's skin care company's website show's that Mrs Buchanan is a company partner.

"In 2009 after her friends and families demands became overwhelming, Vanessa started making larger quantities of creams to fulfill orders and started selling to local health food stores. Within 9 months of making on a retail basis Vanessa needed to move to a bigger environment to cope with her growing business. In late 2010 Vanessa stumbled upon a shared warehouse space in the heart of Marrickville NSW, which fitted her needs perfectly and moved the business there where it expanded quickly over the next 14 months. During this time Vanessa met her business partner Elizabeth Buchanan, who came on board to partner into the Vanessa Megan Brand"

All makes sense now.

Pilots not been able to transfer may be one way they think they can save money . It may turn out you can apply of the street for the other operation . Interesting times .

When you need a relief valve, plan a reshuffle. This to me sounds just like RedQ and other announcements. It will take the focus away from the real issues for a while. Allow AJ and Co to further plot against their customers and workforce whilst still receiving grossly insane wages.
