Air Rage On QF flight

A violent passenger who needed six people to restrain him delayed a flight in Australia when the pilot decided to abort the landing.

The incident happened on a Qantas flight from Perth to Melbourne on Tuesday evening, the West Australian reports.

Qantas says the man became violent and cabin crew had to restrain him.

There are reports it took about six people to pin him down.

The incident is now being investigated by the Australian Federal Police.

Air travellers face a fine of more than $130,000 if commercial airlines have to divert flights because of their unruly behaviour.

Incidents of air rage in Australia are on the rise, and binge drinking is believed to have paid a part.

There were 461 incidents of air rage reported in 2010, up from 67 in 2007.

Probably realised that the cost vs service is not enough for what he paid!

As expected, Skystar320, has put his anti-Qantas slant on what must have been a very difficult situation, which appears to have been all very well handled by those involved.

This is the "PROFESSIONAL" pilot network. Should you really be here? Maybe setup the APRUNE site, for the amateurs?!

A professional never denigrates a dynamic, difficult challenging situation experienced by other professionals, without facts, experience and, in most cases, actually being on the flight deck yourself.

Holy Sense of Humour Failure Batman!!!!!!!!!!!!
For sure! I may even have made such a comment in the right company, in the right circumstances.

Look at the history of Skystar320. It's the anti-Qantas chip thing, not just the statement itself that was made albeit possibly in jest. All things DJ (or AN) are great. Never misses an opportunity for an amateur DJ-type statement. The Skystar handle itself reeks of living in the past.

The statement on the WWW, by him (or her) was just poor taste IMHO. Whatever. I try not to go personal, but it just hit a nerve. A go-around to make time to restrain a wild pax is bloody serious.

Move on. Ansett is history. And DJ aint no AN or QF. Try Skywest maybe, they have an A320 and wear blue shirts.
