Whatever the DJ strategy is it is working because Rat is now bleating to Canberra about their possible demise. JB must be loving this slow baked lesson in management 101.

Lets just hope that there are a few pollies who remember:
1. the performance of the rat at the Senate hearings.
2. the way they spun the grounding.
3. They effectively left most of them high and dry with the travelling public who were stranded around the world.
To be considered national carrier, I would have thought you would need to behave in the national interest.

Mismanagement got QF to where they are today - they have 30,000 plus loyal staff who are willing to work hard. It's a pity to see an aussie icon wither away due to mismanagement.

Wouldn't be the first time QF has lobbied the government... They did it 2001 in Canberra when they were worried about Singapore airlines getting their hands on Ansett...look where that ended..

And 1994/95
In the early 1990s world of aviation, "open skies with Australia" was the repeatedly chanted mantra. The official name was the single aviation market, meaning that Air New Zealand would be able to fly Australian domestic routes. It was all set to happen in 1994, and then, literally days before it was due to start, it was blown out of the sky by the "Brereton Fax" (from Laurie Brereton, Minister of Transport, in the Australian Labor government) telling Maurice Williamson, his New Zealand counterpart, that the deal was off. And it’s never been on, ever since. It coincided with a crucial Qantas share float and Australia has aggressively pursued Qantas’ interests as its top priority ever since.
The privatised Air New Zealand developed a fixation on Australia as the key to its future as a ranking world airline. It was stunned by Australia pulling the plug on the single aviation market (as was the New Zealand government) and was determined to get into Australia at any cost (which, eventually, nearly came to mean its actual existence). It tried to buy into Qantas, but failed. The Aussies had other ideas – they told Air New Zealand that the only way it could get into Australia was to buy into Ansett.

Recruitment?
I am searching for VA's plans for 2012 for me. If this is approached in another thread, please direct me, but I couldn't see it anywhere.
Been on hold file for a little while now. Has anyone got any insight into when courses may get started again?
Many Thanks

Unseen,
If that needs to answered then you really haven't done much research? Numerous threads on here about the ATR OPS, not to mention all the articles in flying mags over the last 12 months.

I have searched, I have read, I am unable to determine if there is a separate AOC for the ATR operation from this research or, if there isn't one, if one has been applied for.
Just asking for some help.
I will try again,
Sorry!
