I find it disgusting that the little irish prick has the gaul to front the media and say we are building a stronger Qantas blah blah blah.

There was no mention of any investment into Qantas International today. No mention of trying to enter new markets, nothing zip zilch.

Yet 110 new aircraft will be purchased to satisfy his ego and his precious little jetstar.

That is not building a stronger Qantas. That is taking away from Qantas. Building a stronger Qantas would include waking up and buying 777s, putting 380s through HKG and BKK to LHR and actively looking for new markets and actively advertising Qantas as Qantas, not trying to sell it as a pompous business designed by Newson and catered by Perry.

Get rid of the crap and get back to basics. A great airline with great people giving great service.

You cannot offer friendly service to customers while always wondering if you will have a job to return to next shift.

c173 , no mate, you just don't understand.
320s are free if going to a qantas LCC, but qf 380s cost the world.

Just a gut feeling and thinking about how Boeing & Airbus like to undermine each other, causes me to wonder if we won't be hearing of a large B787 order being cancelled.

No mention at all about the 787.But maybe this is all about the 787? An all new, utopian Qantas.Pilots on the ' modern award'.Thai and other Asian Flight attendants on fabulous wages and conditions ( better than a lawyer or doctor in their own country- just ask BB who knows about all this stuff ).
Sure the headquarters will be based in Sydney but that'll be about as Australian as it'll get.
An announcement of 30 or so 777-300ER's,retire the 74's and new routes around the globe? Makes too much sense I guess!

OK, if you insist...

Sarcasm on... The good news there's another Qantas bashing thread! So, congratulations on having another Qantas bashing thread!...Sarcasm off!

Seriously Mods...if this was any other subject, you'd merge the multitude of same same threads into one. But it seems you're allowing a free-for-all, no restriction on numbers of Qantas bashing threads (there are currently 11 on the front page!!!), and those of us with little interest in reading this tripe almost have to go to page two of D&G to find any other subject matter!

Interestingly, I know a 'Zed' but he hasn't been a FLTLT for over 10 years, and I doubt very much he would be hanging around this thread...

A scroll and a click to page two, should not be a problem for a HOTAS guy.

Well, to be honest there's a lot of news on Qantas at the moment, and not much of it is very good if you're an Australian employee.

When Virgin does something amazing (like become the new Australian premium carrier, which shouldn't be too long now at the rate Joyce is trashing the QF mainline brand), I'm sure they'll be the subject of most of the thread topics.

F/A 18,

just for info, what you see are 3 key QF threads at the moment. What you don't see (without moderator privileges), is (are?) the countless new threads we have merged into those 3 (or deleted entirely), particularly since that announcement.

So rest assured, we are onto it, although it is keeping us busier than we'd like

TID.
