Tomorrow when this rebranding occurs officially,
Hopefully with the name change and product enhancements Branson will become a part of Virgin's history books once and for all. Watching him is a bit like watching a Bull Mastiff lick it's balls - it is funny at first, even funny on the second occasion, but after that it is downright boring.

Geezzz not real impressive. I really hope they didn't pay hanz to much for that re-branding. with some great airline liveries around these days you would have though they would have come up with something better/original. What a wasted opportunity.

Virgin Bland
Ben Sandilands has called it Virgin Bland. Family member who works for them agrees, is not happy.
Sandilands has also done a retrospective on the last day of blue at Virgin which makes some interesting points about Godfrey, Branson, and the 'originals'.

*at least Compass 1 and 11 had some style....

There is no EBA for the Pac Blue pilots who are employed under NZ terms and conditions under NZ industrial laws.
VA pilots currently negotiating an EBA that governs their T&Cs. The proposed EBA as submitted from AFAP and VIPA differs slightly from that proposed by the company and gives a right of transfer to VA CFOs to VB/PB and also reiterates the right of progression for the SFOs to progress to B777 commands.
VB pilots EBA has about a year before it is renegotiated. This means that for the forseeable future, VA, VB and PB will be on separate awards, depending on type flown. Pac Blue pilots will contine to be employed under NZ laws.
With the A330 pilots also on contracts this would mean 4 agreements covering the pilot body.
There are also B777 CFOs who were employed with less than 1000 hrs. No big deal given that most of the SFOs and TFOs have 10,000 hrs + and previous jet commands (B737, B767, A320 & B717s), including C&T roles in previous companies.

A bit anti-climatic but was not expecting too much given the "leaks" of name and photo's of the flying lady etc.
Isn't Worlds Best Practice at the moment........ "less is best" sort of like the KISS principle?
What were people expecting bright purple with silver highlights??

From a Travel Agent point of view, if they do not become a full BSP airline and allow agents to book them the same/easy way that Qantas allow then this whole thing will be a waste of time.

Man, that's not a rebranding, just a re-spray! Vorky, I liked the southern cross watermark too, it's a shame they haven't continued it. This just looks like a low rent freighter livery. I thought Virgin were trying to go posh!
Trouble is if they had gone with the V-Australia livery with a name change you would all be bagging that as well.
"Looks too much like Qantas, with red tail"
A silver (in same colour as name) tail with the Virgin script would have been better!
Maybe it looks a lot better in the flesh??

Looks like the old Air Van livery.
Missed the mark big time, I think they have let the staff down with the way they have been talking it up over the last few months.
The tail needed to be silvery blue with Virgin in red in the same style as the old tail, with the southern cross in silver on the rear fuse or on the bottom.

Bland? Yes. More silver would have done the job, & I agree with comments that it mostly looks like a white tail with some hastily applied decals.
That said, at least it doesn't look like QF, unlike the V-Oz 777's which are easily mistaken for the red tailed rat from a distance.
However, the most important thing will be how it all measures up on the inside. Once the corporate fat cats take their seats in the new business class, they won't care what the exterior colours look like, but they'll care an awful lot about the level of service & product quality from a cabin perspective. Let's hope it's something special, because the market is certainly crying out for it.
