Thumbs up

Don't forget to RSVP if you intend on going. [email protected]

I've tried three times now to get the correct email in. Although it's showing OK here when I edit it, it's displaying as 'invalid hash'. Office at aipa dot org dot au is the address.

Webcast?

Anyone know whether AIPA will webcast this meeting?

A lot of guys/gals obviously won't be able to attend in person due to distance...it would be great if they could participate by watching a live webcast...

Hi

Have problems sending email to that address.

Do they want non union members that currently work outside the industry?

I wouldn't mind showing my support and have been planning to return to aviation.

ALL Encouraged to attend...

As I understand it, this is another 'All Pilot Industry Meeting'...all are encouraged to attend....whether AIPA, AFAP, other union-member, non-union member, legacy carrier, low-cost carrier, regional carrier, general aviation or unemployed pilot.

This is about unity and inclusion of ALL.

Lets show the politicians, management, the rest of our industry and the largely ignorant (through no particular fault) general public that we are all on the same page regarding these issues.

Please RSVP to AIPA so they can arrange enough room for us all (and ensure sufficient cold bevvies!)

PG

PS. As has been mentioned by others, please email/text/call all your mates and advise them. A lot of guys stopped reading PPRuNe many years ago and may have no idea that the meeting is on if they are not AIPA members.

Did AIPA send an email out to its members about this? When was this advertised?
If they did I didn't get it and if I didn't then maybe many others didn't either.

Apparently an internal AIPA memo was sent out to some within AIPA regarding details of the meeting.

If you are an AIPA member I suggest you write (email) to them and strongly recommend they lift their game with regard to publicity of the BNE meeting!

External advertising needs to be done in conjunction with any internal memos if details about the meeting are to reach the ENTIRE aviation community.

AIPA delegates if you are reading this please get on this ASAP!

Had an email reply from AIPA, and the campaign for this meeting is ramping up now. Seems the info here comes from someone in the know and has beaten the main push to the party.
Any advertising is good advertising!

Brisbane 'All Pilots' Industry Meeting Flyer

I couldn't work out how to insert an image or document into this post...so I copied and pasted the text of the AIPA Flyer...

"All Australian Pilots Meeting

What: An all Australian Pilot meeting to develop a response to the career threatening FSO 136/10 and especially the off-shoring of Australian jobs by Jetstar Airways (Qantas Group company).

When: 2pm on Friday, 5 November 2010

Where: Hamilton Hotel, 442 Kingsford Smith Drive, Brisbane QLD.

To assist us in hiring the correct room size, please RSVP by emailing coral dot barker at aipa dot org dot au or calling 03 9938 3898.

All Australian Pilots that are not flying at this time, regardless of AIPA, AFAP or non-union membership are encouraged to attend."

C'mon Guys, lets show management, the pollies, the general public AND EACH OTHER that we are united on these issues. Spread the word, RSVP and get along to this industry-critical gathering in Brissie in a few weeks.

PG

PS. I have the AIPA Flyer...its a PDF document if someone can tell me how I attach it or insert it in a post?

Don't forget...and tell your mates, whether they are union or non-union, airline, regional, GA or military.

Get along...and make a difference.

Cheers,

Why we should not be Complacent !

Just talking to a new Jetstar Cadet. Employed on a 'contract" for $32,300 pa ($NZ42000), less training costs of $NZ60000 over 4 years. And, it gets better! Has been told that he can expect to get "LWOP" to operate here in Oz on the same money. Personally, I reckon, this is a reflection of the total weakness of our unions.

Is there any scope for us to be apathetic now ? I don't think so.

How'd it go?

I (along with many others) wasn't able to attend due work schedule.

Would someone be kind enough to give us all a report on attendance, agenda, media interest and generally how it all went?

Cheers in anticipation.
