Received the sad news from his daughter Pat Trewin that Squadron Leader Syd Trewin RAAF, died on 17 September 2010 at Newcastle. He had a stroke many years earlier. He is buried with his second wife at Sandgate Cemetery, Newcastle. Syd was the Commanding Officer of No 10 Squadron Townsville in the late Fifties flying Lincoln Mk 31 (Long Nose). He also flew Lincolns in operations in Malaya. He was one of the best CO's I have served under and very much liked by aircrew and ground crew alike.
