Is this a wind up?

Because that's what some landing lights do now....they pulse on and off!

Increases visibility, and scares away the birds...apparently

Fitted to the later model 737's, and also Dash 8's

No wind-up Capt

See it in Oz and Canada with Dash's and 73's flashing away. Never seen it in NZ before.

Ha Haa and half of south Auckland.....seriously though, I have often wondered why we don't have a very loud horn 'cause often we can see the birds long before we get to them, especially on the roll. Can't see why it wouldn't work.

ATR tried that and hasn't been overly successful with the birds, except the odd hot one walking into terminal

Horn's no good, they'd never hear it over the engine noise .
