QANTAS in Honiara?

There has been no sign of the SolAir / Strategic A320 here this week - but we have had QF aircraft here on both Monday and Wednesday.

Anyone with any idea why? On the cynical side - did SolAir miss the lease payment?? Would not be the first or the last time!

Thanks coco-nuts - was wondering what was going on as the QF aircraft were here on the days of SolAir scheduled flights.

Having been here through the saga of the Spanish jet, SkyAirworld and OjZet and scheduled flights not arriving / departing due to unpaid lease and fuel payments - a few of us were starting to get a tad cynical given the 35% budget cut here across all of government including the SOEs.

coco-nuts may well be able to answer that.

I saw Monday's on approach over the "city" of Honiara and it was the QF livery that caught my eye. Wednesday's I saw from the main road as I was heading to GBR and again it was at terminal and it was the livery that caught my eye. Both had aircraft winglets but I did not look any closer than that. Possibly 738??

Probably 738. And they should go there more often, given the other interest in the security and region!

And just why is the Strategic aircraft not going - nothing to do with a U/S pax door and unorthodox pax boarding procedures, is it ?????????????

Can anyone shed light on that?

unorthodox pax boarding procedures,
You don't mean the 2 bit boarding steps chained to a work platform by any chance do you.
