"Jetstar's Lowest Fare Ever!"

Got an email on Firday afternoon from Jetstar saying to look out for Jetstar's Lowest Fare Ever soon exclusive to jetmail members. Seen as though they've allready had $1 Maybe 0.01 this time ?

It seems a contradiction that a person with a handle "Tiger01" is a member of Jetstar's Jetmail club.

I think we'll see a lot of ultra cheap fares being advertised as Dixon is not going to make life easy for SQ's subsidiary Tiger Airlines. I suspect that the number of ultra cheap seats on each flight will be quite small.

but for the last little while, QF have increased the credit card surcharge for an online ticket by 50% to $6.60 - a nice little earner in a sneaky manner. DJ haven't stooped to this.

Jet*Asia Airfares

I recall some twits recently on another thread going on about Tiger Airways and their low cost fares and it is going to stuff the OZ industry etc etc etc.

Well Well, what about Jet Star Asia in the Bangkok Post this week advertising 33 baht plus tax oneway Bangkok to Singapore!!!!!

THAT IS just over $1.00 AUD plus tax - Bangkok to Singapore oneway!!!!

Is not Jet Star Asia wholly owned by QANTAS Ltd????

What is good for the goose is good for the gander.....Please no more crap on pprune about the impact of Low Cost Carriers on the OZ scene.

If you have a beef...write to GD and tell him to back off in Asia.....

Sorry but LLC's are the future of the global aviation industry with just a handful of full service and full price - FSFP - airlines remaining...and that will most probably not include the big fat bloated kangaroo carcass that we have today!

After all its your money and your choice who you fly with and what level of service you want.

Don't forget what the big chief of Singapore Airlines said recently of Tiger Airways foray into the Australian market......"They (QANTAS) are in our backyard so we will be in their backyard".....

Emu787:

I respectfully disagree with regards to your aforementioned statement. Whilst there will certainly always be a market for LCC travel in the forseeable future, I'd still suggest that there will always be full service carriers to accommodate premium passengers. For example, Qantas has seen strong increases in yield recently (although this growth is probably considered more measured than JQ/DJ). The corporate clientele that QF has is unlikely to diminish in the near future.

Just my 2 cents worth.

And the only way Jet* Asia and Tiger can offer such low fairs is by having the backing of Singapore Airlines and the big fat Roo.
