BJ????

I have fond memories of watching BJ and his instructor walking through the door at the old Perth AACC.

BJ at 6'10" and his instructor (who shall remain nameless) towering under him at about 5'3"...

Almost as bad as BJ's date at one fo the desperate and dateless balls held in Perth around that time.
I think she was just touching 5 foot!

Well said Hoss.

7ft 2ish, deep voice = ESS HEYCH ONE TEE....

FLOATER.

Moved into BUZDEV who couldn't even organise an ARFF contract with a country that only wanted ASA to provide the service.

Watch out BUZDEV people BJ is a TOE CUTTER and he is after your butt. Just like he did in the College, ATC Support and now BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.

Look at his record in the College:
- Not enough instructors to provide enough courses to fill the ATC staff shortage that was occurring when he first went to the college,

- pass rates down and fewer controllers gaining initial ratings....ie FAIL.

Look at his record in ATC Procedures Support

- Not enough Qualified procedure designers to fulfill the CASA requirements to maintain 1500 approaches in DAP - especially KUNNUNURRA. (oops, I think Launy is now on the list...flight checked in Feb 07 but no follow up to serious problems found....and now lots of TIBA) .....WTF is CASA doing about ensuring the safety of approach procedures

- No one qualified to edit AIP has been employed since SEPTEMBER...what is CASA doing about its most vital PILOT DOCUMENT...it is not owned by ANSA publications,

- Retiring ERSA editor staying on well beyond USED BY DATE.

BUZDEV...the extra profit arm of ANSA is next in line for BJ to screw.

Come on BIG TONY, get rid of the board and CEO who allow this sort of ESS HEYCH ONE TEE to rise to the top and ENDANGER US ALL.

And let's not forget that all that slashing was rewarded by AsA by giving him an Australia Day award.

"And let's not forget that all that slashing was rewarded by AsA by giving him an Australia Day award."

ESS HEYCH ONE TEE.... I did forget, but then again maybe I chose to NOT REMEMBER BULL****E.

And the same CEO and BOARD who gave the big fella that award are now saying that they will ramp up ATC recruiting to cover the shortfalls......THAT THEY CREATED BY PUTTING THIS TOE CUTTER IN THE COLLEGE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Come on BIG TONY, put your own cronies in place, real quick.

This is starting to sound like small mans syndrome!

Don't get me wrong, what these fellas have done to ASA is negligent at best, but personal attacks should be just that, in person, not some anonymous post on a public forum.

Any chance we can get back to the real topic...

Yes, I agree.

Let GADGET continue to send his abuse to forum contributors via PMs and leave the rest of us to bake in the glow of another managment makeover.

(yes MOD, he has sent me abuse via pm)

Interesting that no replacement for GADGET has been announced as yet.

Given the context of the handle, it is a very funny read to search "inspector GADGET" on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inspector_Gadget

Is there another shuffle of the deck chairs on "Starship Airservices" on the way?

Now, to the topic..............

WHY when someone notifies intention to leave the Starship, are they cajoled into going on LWOP status rather than simply retire/resign?

Could it be that staff on LWOP are not staff "gone" but still are staff "on the books" and therefore the staff shortage is understated?

or is that just my suspicious mind?

LWOP

Slugfest,

RE: LWOP??

Rumour has it when ATCs resigning to go OS have proposed LWOP instead of resignation it has been flatly refused!!!

If true, seems like a shotgun with a barrel pointing at each foot:

Left Foot= Global - No ex Aussie TAAATS boys recruited...

Right Foot= Resigning ATCs not offered LWOP.....

Maybe the Learning Academy (ex college) will be so successful in 2008 there will be no need for either??

ER_BN,

Don't know if this is the go Sh**Ship wide or on an individual basis but I definately know of two individuals who are not coming back from their absences and are on LWOP or some form of long term absence "because they might change their minds".

Pathetic way to cook the books IMHFO.

The first few out the door were given LWOP. As the numbers increased, AsA have realized that more and more were gonna do the same and decided that refusing LWOP would make the masses think a little harder before taking off in to the wide brown yonder. I don't think it's got anything to do with cooking the books.

RS, That was the story, I believe the decision has now "tacked" back to the previous course. LWOP is available again on request, but only after you resign, to prove you're committed. Although I think the last person out the door was told not to resign and LWOP would be available it would just be dependant on the AWB management saying ok, which they did.

LWOP Clarity

Yep,

Spoke to one of the resigners? and yep LWOP but only after you resign. Not sure of the logic here and even if you got it in writing....Hmmmm

Course another nail in the coffin for the ex AsA folks previously resigned and not offered a sniff at the recent GR campaign...

Sorry for the slight insanity there....looking for logic in AsA.

Off to take my pills before sleep and another day keeping TIBA at bay in BN CTR unlike our Mexican colleagues, of course!!

ROFLMAO....did you know that they sent us all (those that were considered inadequate in the global search) an email recently asking if we would please reapply for the course starting in August?

Funnily enough, I declined their most generous offer

Diving Duck

One can never under estimate the insanity going on here in the asylum at the moment....Glad to give you a laugh!

As for your negative and petulant response at the chance to come back and work for one of the top 5 ANSPs in the world...Oh come on...only AsA just playing hard to get..you know AsA always the flirt...yes No yes No yes yes NO!

In reality beggars can't be choosers but the top 2 levels of the asylum are so detached from the core business they don't realise their beggars yet....

TIBAs and BOSs....obviously no impact!

Trouble is most controllers here still assume the top two levels understand...they simply cannot believe they are so detached from the core....

Gonna get a lot worse here before it gets better!

Looks like your decision a good one.

Angry No Bull meeting .......again!

For anyone in Brisbane, apparently there is going to be another "open and frank" discussion with TFN and JH this Wednesday, 19th March.

There are two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, not sure which room.

Of course in the search for openness and truth, there has been very little notice, to anyone, and I found out from an email thrice forwarded, because I was lucky enough to be on that mailing list.

If no one goes, no one complains, so:things must be fine right??
If you are in Brisbane, make sure you attend, and give them both barrels!

Also, can we have a competition to come up with a nickname for JH?? Surely some one has some thing we can use.

BTW, Duff Man, what an excellent ad! If you are not the VP Communications for Civil Air, why not??
