Speaking of the type: was that 'sunstate 500' heard today in BN a dash-400?

Re: QF Q400 QLD routes revealed

The Q400 is actually much quieter then the 146 and many regional jets. The only reason some people think it's louder, is because of the lower frequency of sound compared with jets. It is louder than the Dash Q2/300 but then it has bigger more powerful engines. I work on it for flybe and much it to the 146.

I have just had a look on Qantas timetables to see the schedules for the
-400s. When I look at Brisbane to Mackay, and click on the green square, it shows the type of aircraft to be a Dash 4 Caribou. Has Qantas subcontracted this service to RAAF?

Also according to the timetable, there will still be a QF 737-400 daily on BNEMKY. ( I looked at 22 May). I thought QF were stopping their own flights to MKY. Has the Mayor of Mackay been rude to them?

Sunnies did NOT "roll over" in regards to their EBA!!
Be realistic. $120k was a starting point for negotiations and no-one was expecting to get near it! How can you when JQ and NJS prostitute themselves to fly a shiny new jet.
7% is better than the 0% QF got for the NG and 2% more than QF got for the 744. I'd say they did a pretty good job, also keeping the current conditions which are better than anyone elses.

The 2nd -400 left Canada yesterday, via Alaska, Russia, Japan, Guam.

Expected in the country Monday or Tuesday

Flying my shiny new jet into Alice today I heard Sunstate (500/900?) departing. I thought they must have done a Buggs Bunny and taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque. Perhaps it was the 400 on the way in?

Cranky Chicken

I guess when NJS fire up on the east coast with the rest of JQs 717s you won't be interested then?

Sunstate for the last 4 days have been flying around the Commonwealth Games Queens Baton. It was in Dash 8-200 SDE and it went to Kingaroy, Proserpine, Townsville, Cairns, Mt Isa, Alice Springs before ferrying home to Brisbane via Charleville.

CentreBet (Alice Springs) has good odds for the last 2 D400s being CBR based and staffed by Sunnies, on Bris, Ade and Melb runs....
