REX vs EASTERN's charity cricket match

Apparently Easterns have challenged REX to a cricket match to be held in Sydney at COMO on TUES FEB 8.

It will be a 30 overs per side match, with each member of each team required to bowl at least two overs.

Rex management have apparently come to the party saying that they will donate 5$ per run that rex scores, to go to a tsunami benefit fund.

There will be BBQ and beers during the course of the afternoon, and more beers and a presentation at the COMO HOTEL after the game.

Sounds like a bit of a laugh!

Challenged Eastern's what?

It's Eastern Australia Airlines or Eastern

Get your finger off the "s" key.

Now that's out of the way - how much is Eastern kicking in?

Devil

Knowing E'sAA (sorry PD), probably just the 12 players.
Seriously though it should be a great game to watch. With any luck I will be there.
So when does the betting start? I reckon Rex by 25 runs.

well good luck to both. Hopefully EAA/QF management will match rex's generous offer and it will be an enjoyable day for all , with some much needed $$$$ to charity.

Apart from the fact that EAA already have an "established" cricket club, my money is on REX. They have given to QF for the last couple of years in the regional market, solely thru their employees, and methinks that if they apply that same sort of enthusiasm on this day, then EAA are in for a buttkicking!

Twottbags,

Thanks for dobbing me in - now I have a cricket game to play on a Rostered Day Off.

Seriously - quick 8 years ago (maybe) - the only thing thats quick now is the rate at which my hair is falling out.

Should be a good day - Bring on the BEERS.

Oh - yeah - I believe the nice shiney kookaburra will be thrown my way, hope I can keep it on the pitch.

Oh - and we will be in contact for any donations to the Tsunami fund.

Como - What a great venue for a social game of cricket. When I played there 'twas not uncommon for the the twelfth man to be seen standing on the balcony of the pub with a beer in his hand. And after the match, nothing like walking into the pub with the whites on and grass stains on your pants. Gold...

A tip guys - if the tide is up, have a bowl first, rumour has it that the ball swings around a bit more.

Sick em Rex!!!

23 ....

I know who you are talking about, but it is not me

Should be a good game tho.

Format is :

22 overs per team, with EVERY team member to bowl two overs -

NO Ducks -

BAtsman (and women) must retire at 35, but may comer back in at the end of the innings if there are overs remaining -

Drinks breaks to be taken at the request of the umpires ..... or bowlers.... or fielders.... or batsmen ....... or seagulls -

Drinks and presentations after the game at the COMO HOTEL-

'Kick off" at 1300 SHARP!!!!!!
