John Anderson's Hypocracy

Why has no media oulet reported on the fact that the Minister for Transport had Coffs Harbour tower opened one hour earlier than usual over the Christmas period to accomodate his arrival so that he didn't have to arrive under the new safe NAS system?

Acceptable safety for all but the Ministers family I suggest.

Disgraceful!!!!

Feed the Chooks

Sometimes you have to feed the chooks (a common phrase from the Joh era in Queensland).

The media aren't always the brightest, and sometimes you have to lead them. After all, I don't believe (of course, I can't state fact here, Mr. Smith) the media always fully realise the implications of many incidents.

Spelling Man and his youthful, chiselled side-kick, Punctuation Boy lower themselves into the forum via the trusty Spell-a-Rang!

SM: You were right, my bodacious buddy.... a clear case of a mispelled noun... in the title no less!!

PB: Gosh Spelling Man, looks like we got here just in time!

SM: Hand me the Websters, and stand back using the patented Spelling Man defensive posture!

(pause)

SM: You know you could bend over a little more...

PB: Sorry Spelling Man.

SM: Thats better, now back to work.. lets see, yes, here it is

Hy-poc-ri-sy (N) Pretending to be what one is not.

SM:Ironic isn't it Punctuation Boy? The mispelled word is describing itself!!

Together: HAHA HAHAHAH AAAAAAAA!!

SM: Our work here is done, but we must be ever vigilant!

(SM and PB clasp the Spell-a-rang.... PB is going first up the rope, Spelling man is paying close attention to the tightly stretched lycra costume ahead of him...)

Together: ... AWAY!!!!

ahah and plazbot gived speleling man a warm glass of shut the f#ck up.

From the rumours I hear I hope that the real story comes out pressure, legislative breaches and all. That arrogant prick needs to be shown that he has made a huge mistake trusing one and all of the Smiths.

I am led to believe that when the Minister for Mid-Airs is acting PM his flights are given VIP status. However once once through C he's still gotta go through E like the rest of us.

To answer the question without giving away too much.

It is a Defence requirement, and would not have been specifically asked for by the pollies. If the airfield has a tower than a request is submited for it to be opened for certain VIP flights. Happens reasonably often.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

So What??

Vref+5,

So what?

I know it is a defence requirement...which makes it a government requirement. However, this doesn't negate the fact that when JA flew out of Coffs, he was regarded as sooo important a person that he required the protection of D class tower airspace.

To me, social justice would dictate that no one life is more important than any other. We can always get another acting PM, besides there are plenty of spares in Canberra.

The facts are that this type of government policy stinks...(but then so does NAS), and it doesn't make it right.

The fact is
- it happened,
- many don't think it right,
- and JA still had to run the gauntlet of E airspace anyway.

Per ardua ad astra

It could be worse, they had the HIAL/taxiway lighting removed in Canberra so Air Force One could land. Rumour also has it there was a sniper positioned in/on the control tower as well. Of course knowing John Anderson, he just hasn't been smart(?) enough to think of that yet.
