My humble opinion is that it may be the Emirates Cargo 747. As the Emirates Passenger fleet is 777's, A330's and A340's. The only other thought would be that it may be the 747 that the Dubai royal family have, but that flys under a Dubai callsign. I didn't think the Emirates cargo 747 was an SP but I'm not sure.

Ok ok, I SAW it, not was it. Simple error. As per my subject title it was a United Arab Emirates B747, not Emirates the airline. 2 different things, so it obviously couldn't have been carrying normal pax. Here is a pic of it:

Been their a while, before Xmas when l passed through.
Nothing to do with EK though.
Abu Dhabi royal flight l think. And not a freighter either.
Since it's not a -400 it may only be minions out there, and possibly for the Magic Millions? Maybe anyway.

Maktum bin Rashid al-Maktum, prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai is an avid horse racing fan and has a very elaborate stud farm by the New England Highway in NSW and is a regular visitor to Australia. His private transport is Dubai Air Wing, the royal flight.

For those interested,
A plain white B742F supposedly belonging to "Dubai Air Cargo" or someone similar rocked up at YPPH last night, around 1300ish UTC.
No markings (not even a rego), only a few windows upstairs that hadn't been blocked out, and all white. Looked like a bit of a drug runner at first sight, actually.

Feather#3 sorry, as far as I know, Lufthansa did not operate the 747SP. Dubai Airwing A6-SMM was out-fitted to the Royal Flight standard by Lufthansa- Technik. Airwing in fact still operate two more SPs; A6-SMR (the one seen at YBBN) and A6-ZSN.
A6-SMR Prod. No. 21961
A6-SMM " 21963
A6-ZSN " 23610.

The white 747 comes into Perth transporting horses so it is probably connected. The 747SP also called into Perth prior to heading off to BN. The Sheik probably wanted to call into the Magic Millions office over the other side of the car park to the Ascot Tavern. .. or was it the other way around?
Bloody long way to go for a beer.
