Reporting Points

My site now has the reporting point changes for 28 November.

There are some great new ones:

DOGIT, RISLA, KEPAD, TUPEM, TUMTI amongst others.

Come on folks - we all know they are from the random lists of letters, but who picked them --- and why??

5milesbaby 24th November 2002 10:20

DOGIT comes from the surname of one of our retiring managers, so even when they've gone, they come back to haunt us.

Thanks 5! Does the retiring bod have a name?? That's just the kind of background my site needs!!

Cheers and ....... any more??

Bev Bevan 24th November 2002 12:12

Think we should have a RP named after a certain just-retired HD.. just need to change one of the letters :D

"so we're now naming them after managers, where are they going to place "PRICK"......"

There's one in the south of Spain called MORON, will that do?:)

In the new North Sea sector there will be LEGRO after the bloke involved in its development (not the famous car with the square steering wheel!).

The big pity is that DODSI will disappear in the new sectorisation. No longer can any male pilot report that he is coming over DODSI and cause much tittering in LACC!

FoxRomeo 27th November 2002 09:59

in southern Germany someone really got carried away:

TITIX, PIGMI, TUBLO, LUGUS, GAGSI, ...

but my all time favorite:
LEKMI (pronounces in German just like: kiss my a**)

EGCC Rwy 24 28th November 2002 16:06

Thanks "eye" ---- good to see that my site at least knows something! DODSI ---->

Named after Julie Dodds, allegedly "a little cracker in AC ops LATCC", or so we are told!

Some real name(s) etc for LEGRO?

Still searching for the background to the other new ones?

I will find a space on the site for the overseas ones.

On a different topic (that of beacons rather than points), does anyone have any photos of VORs, NDBs etc? That feels like the next logical place to go weith my site.

Cheers all.

BEXIL160 28th November 2002 16:54

Mr. Peter LeGros.... no, really!:)

EGCC Rwy 24 28th November 2002 20:49

Thanks Bex --- keep 'em coming!

EGCC Rwy 24 29th November 2002 17:56

Thanks to Multimap, the map links are now working again!

EGCC Rwy 24 8th December 2002 20:21

There must be some more knowledge out there......
