Taxi way lighting
It is 20 years since I last operated out of Heathrow. At that time, taxi instructions consisted of " follow the green lights, stop at red cross bars" Minimal R/T chat, brilliantly simple, and virtually fool proof. ( even I could cope)
I have since heard that because other airfields did not have a similar system, this had to be dropped, as it was deemed "non standard". True or false? |
False. It’s still going 👍🏻

Pretty sure Dubai have a very similar system (maybe exactly the same?) based on Heathrow?

Long ago a DC8 went off the end of (what was) 28R in fog and ended up amongst a load of cabbages in an allotment. Apparently he had been told "follow the greens"!

point 5
False. It’s still going Heathrow director - not good to hear - kindly leave the stage. |
Well I liked HD's comment anyway!
