ACAS bulletin 15 - reducing climb/descend rates
Hi all,
Eurocontrol released another bulletin on how to avoid TCAS RA, by reducing descend/climb rates during the last 1000'. There also is a recommendation by ICAO that during the last 1000' only rates of 1500'/min or less should be less. However there still seems to be strong opposition agains it and I don't really understand why? What are the issues and why do people think that it is safe to approach a level with 4000'/min when there is traffic in the vicinity... Appreciate any answers! Felix |
