What is happening? I thought 27 was going to be withdrawn months ago, has it been used in the last few months?

The runway has just not been repaired. Don't get your hopes up though, it officially closes as a runway on the 1st november.

Does that mean Glasgow will get an updated chart -- possibly in the newish style almost every other field has? :ouch:

1st Nov has been and gone but 27 is hanging on, anyone know what the latest thoughts on its fate is?

I asked ATC last time I was in there. I was told it was shutting for good soon but they hoped to be able to put it back in service 'as a link'.

27/09 is closed and has been since 01/11. It is notamed as such. However, as the painted markings, wigwags, holding point signs, threshold markings etc are still in place there is still a "best practice" requirement to clear aircraft and vehicles to cross the 27 threshold.
As far as I am aware there are no plans to reopen it, ever, however the east side if repaired would make a useful 05 HSTO. If and when BAA find money in the budget to do this remains to be seen.

Gutted to hear 27/09 has gone but I did hear rumblings about it when I was at EGPF.
Used to love calm summer days and trying to see how short a time I could get a movement on all four runways.
