Approved Departure Time

Quick question which i can't seem to find an answer for easily and i wondered if anyone who understands flow could help me out.

Is an approved departure time the same as a slot?

If not could someone explain the difference!

an approved departure time overrides any slot time. the adt is often a local restriction whereas the slot will obviously be from brussels.
