Hi igi would you be able to give some sort of insight into the FEAST/DART test? What should we expect? I have mine next week.
I have studied the booklet for the multiple choice and trying to drill in all the info on the last few pages. A lot to take in as you know. Although this cannot be much trained. You can check the payware Skytest. Good luck! |

Hi Igi, congrats on passing stage 2! I was also there for stage 2 on that date and I too passed, I was the welsh man wearing a leather jacket and carrying a rucksack. :8
I booked my stage 3 for the 30th of Nov to give me as much time to prepare as I can haha, don't want to mess this up! I'm curious about stage 3 myself, I'd like to know some of the interview questions asked. I'm not after answers but we're expected to prepare answers for questions asked so I'm not sure why anyone would be against sharing, if anyone is willing to help me out please shoot me a pm, would greatly appreciate it! Good luck with your stage 3 Igi, all the best mate, let me know how it goes! Re. Stage 3 interview questions, you'll find most people would be against sharing specific details because we are explicitly asked not to divulge any information. I think a big part of the process is putting you under pressure to see how you can think on the spot, so knowing what's going to be asked kind of defeats the purpose. As a starter though, just like with any job interview it would be beneficial for you to think of the key competencies that are required of an ATCO, such as making decisions, calm under pressure etc. and think about examples you could use to show them how you have these essential attributes. Also think about other personal qualities that you think would be essential in getting through the college training which is said to be tough. Just remember there is a personality interview as well that will focus less on ATC and more on your personal qualities. All the best. |
Thanks for the tips Kirsteneg. Do you mind telling me if a group excercise was involved in your stage 3? I've seen mention of it elsewhere but there is no mention of it in the email I received, just the competency and behavioural interview, as well as the computer based assessment.
Congratulations on passing the interview btw, wish you all the best with your ATCO career! |

Anybody down for stage 2 on the 26th?
|
Hi all...
Just passed stage 0 & 1 and waiting for a list of stage 2 dates... Interested to know if there are any other 40yr olds attempting this career change? Worried I might be too old to start this journey! |
Hello everyone, long time lurker as they say, nice to meet you all and I thank the recent posters for all information regarding the process involved during your application.
I am booked onto my stage 2 tests in Fareham on Monday 18th Sept, definitely feeling the stretch as I read and initially thought I should be setting my date within 7 days of passing stage 1, as in be first email they sent it stated they expected the whole process to take around a month, so I went ahead and booked the first possible date before realising I had a 28 page booklet to memorise *doh*! Lots of night time (daytime in this case as I work nights :P ) reading for me it would seem. In regards to the FEAST and DART, I doubt I can do anything to prep my innate ability aside from stay hydrated and get a good nights kip. I am curious as to whether anyone has sat the ATC/Pilot aptitude tests for the Navy/RAF aswell as these and whether you noticed any similarities? ATC hadn't crossed my mind until I scored out of the ballpark on the RAF aptitude tests and it really got me thinking maybe this would be a fantastic career, and so here we are! :) In regards to this booklet, I understand it'll be 30 questions related to the content, any idea of how obscure these questions will be? I've got a lot of revising to do over the next 5 days and I'm unsure of what to concentrate the most on! And is anyone else going this Monday? *tumbleweed* |

I think the theory and information parts will sink in, my main concern is memorising the aircrafts in such a short space of time. Hoping someone may be able to shed some light on roughly how big a part of the test these make up? Either way, will be cramming in all the revision I can over the next 5 days! And any tips for FEAST and DART are greatly appreciated. Good luck with the revision :) |

Hi everyone.
So I had my stage 3 yesterday and this morning was contacted by NATS to arrange and confirm an appointment for an initial class 3 medical. All seems positive... BUT I haven't actually had any confirmation from HR that I passed stage 3. Has this happened to anyone else?? I dont want to count my chickens before they've hatched but it would seem very unprofessional to arrange medicals and then withdraw them if people were unsuccesful. |

I did hear from them today and luckily I was successful! :D
They've pencilled me in for November 29th which I was surprised about. Hopefully I'll have enough time to sort everything after my medical which is not until 2nd November. I hope some more ppruners make it onto the same course :ok: |

I was weighing up the options of driving vs train as I only need to travel from Portsmouth. Most likely I will drive, but I think I might try and scope out the car park tomorrow just to relieve the stress of figuring out where I'm going on the day!
Out for the day today so it's a couple of hours revision tonight then it's up to the gods  |
