Quick weather question

Hi everyone

Just a quick question about the weather. I was wondering how high pressure over the atlantic would affect the atlantic track structure?

Hope someone can help!

Not quite sure what you are after. The jetstream is the important item for the North Atlantic Tracks. It is quite a complex issue which is why it is hard to predict. There is some explanation here:

Sorry you will have to copy the link as the buttons do not appear to work.

It is not as simple as the position of the high pressure although the two are interconnected.

Re: Quick weather question

High pressure at the surface is usually meaningless to aircraft flying at FL's. However, a high pressure ridge aloft usually means light winds...therefore it would generally be efficent to fly near one if headed west.
