Changes in normal routing?
Can anyone help, please? I live in the north west of Sheffield. On a clear day, I see aircraft (747's, Airbus, et al) at cruising altitude, heading North, on an airway, the name/number of which I don't know, which is just slightly to the west of the city.
I presume that most of these are heading to Prestwick-ish before heading across the Atlantic. However, today, for some reason, quite a number of aircraft at this point were turning left, perhaps by 30 -40 degrees, and continuing on that new heading until out of site. This is unusual. Is there an explanation for this? Thanks. N.Z. |
Depends on the NorthAtlanticTrack system.. Look at www.ais.org.uk regestration is free, and you can access all sorts of info. :ok:
