Buckingham Palace flypast
 

Was just wondering what arrangements there were for the WW2 commemorations involving the flypast over Buckingham Palace this afternoon - must have had an impact on LHR arrivals/departures?

...and LCY in/outs...... and Battersea.... and Northolt

Well, whatever impact it had, it was well worth it.

I was driving through Bethnal Green (East London) yesterday (Sunday), and heard a most unusual aircraft engine noise. I looked up through the sun roof to see a Lancaster bomber, with a Spitfire on one wing tip, and a Hurricane on the other, in perfect formation at about 700' agl right over the top of me..

It took about five minutes for my hair to lie down again, no exageration. They looked and sounded fantastic (six Rolls Royce Merlins?).
