travel insurance

Can anyone recommend the best place for annual travel insurance? I was covered with Travel Staff Journeys but after the collapse of their placing company, I don't know whether to go back to them.

I dont know if you're in UKATTS Vertigo, but I had a years worth of cover for the whole family for around £60 last year through one of the schemes on offer. I can't remember which company was the actual insurer, (hope it wasn't Independant :D !), but it gave very high levels of cover etc worldwide.
Fortunately we never had to make a claim.
Might be worth a root around the UKAtts bumf at work.

Vertigo,

I think the insurance that Spoonbill is talking about was offered through UKATTS by a company called Gibson and partners (Now Orr, Kerr and Dykes). An annual family policy costs about £62 (winter sports a few quid more)

However - you only get what you pay for and I have found them particularly useless at helping with a recent holiday problem (as they weren't there when I needed them!).

Best of luck '

Spoken to Travel Staff Journeys and if your certificate starts TSJ201-, your policy is OK. :)

Mine starts TSJ201-
So I guess that means my policy still stands?
I suppose Ill give them a ring to find out. Any more info from anyone?

All policies issued after 1st April 2001 are OK.
I was one of the unlucky ones who renewed in Feb, but only got notified last week of the problems and hence will have to buy a new policy.
I don't think they will get caught out again, so will be staying with them, the policy is pretty good value for money, and on the one occcasion I had to claim (travel delay) they were helpful and paid out promptly.

Get a Lloyds Bank 'Gold' Account, travel insurance is free. Policy is pretty damn good too.

Overdraft rate's extortionate though!!!!

Cheers ADIS :D
