London Control Zone website
http://www.satuk.org/satuk/London/EGLL/egll.htm
(procedures) Nice website explaining the London Control Zone. Who compiled it though? |
Dunno who wrote that, but it makes more sense than the MATS pt2!!
Here is the link for the 17 or so staff: http://www.satuk.org/staff.asp See how many you know!! (If you scroll down to the bottom you can become a watch manager - So now yuo know where they get them from!!!!) |
This is scary - are these guys real?
|
Whatever flicks your switch and all that!!
Must admit, coming home to relive a crap day at work isn't my idea of fun! Still, give them there dues, as it all seems accurate to me (apart from them saying the holding axis at LAM is 267 degrees - I think it is 266!!!!!) |
Damn, I didn't realise it was a 'Virtual Aviation' website. I thought it was the homepage of a real world ATCer.

Hey Aluminium Importer, you still involved in this?
I think we should be told :) WF. |
Wonder if they get simulated crap bonus payments !!!
|
Mr Factor,
Have never actually controlled on the virtual system but occasionally offer my vast amount of knowledge (!) of the real world system to make the virtual experience more realistic! Didn't write any of the website or procedures though. See you this afternoon! AI |
They've missed several STAR's and got the standing agreements wrong, but other than that, just totally SAD.
|
Although all this is virtual, is it mostly correct? I have my interview for ATC in a couple of weeks and find this a lot easier to understand that any books etc... Should I take any notice of it? Wouldn't want to start talkin' a load'a cr*p during it...
Cheers! |
The words 'get a life' come to mind.....
|
and then leap out of your mouth at full volume.
Spotter - tastic! |
We aren't that bad really :-)
The whole organisation is run by people who donate resources and time for about 30,000 users (worldwide). If any of you have any input at all that could help then we would be more than grateful. very impressed with the atc description of LHR. as a 737 f/o who recently operated in to LHR for the first time, having flown in to most of europes busiest airports, i can only take my hat off, if i would wear it, to the controllers.
the description provides a detailed insight which i think most flight deck would find interesting. who ever found it and who ever designed it, well done. |
Top Swiss 941
You say you have your ATC interview imminently. What stage are you at. If you want some advice from a fairly recent interviewee then e-mail me. |
Looks like a lot of hard work for nothing, get enough of that on ACS1 at the college thanks ! Found the website a bit disjointed. I think I'll give it a miss if it's all the same. Good luck with it though if it gives pilots or at least pseudo pilots an insight into all the s**t that goes on in ATC !!!!!!!!!!!!!
