ATC Career

Does anyone have any suggestions of starting a career in ATC.

I would like to start as an assistant and move up into ATC in a few years.

Does anyone know of any ATCA vacancies at the moment, anywehre in the country?

I would like to do an atc office job if there is such a thing, but I somehow dont think there is such as job as most is all operational or office jobs are done by qualified atcos?

Would anyone recomend any qualifications or courses to take that would increase by chances of a career in atc?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

(PS: I am aware of the nats recruiment process, this isnt an option at the moment)

Heard on the grapevine that there may be a vacancy for a ATSA at a regional airport in the South East in the not_to_distant_future! PM me you like and I'll see what I can do re: getting your name on the waiting list if your suitable! That goes for anyone else but sorry, the money is not the best in the ATSA world!!:ok:

Thanks for all your PM's re: the ATSA vacancy, the response was, hmmm overwhelming and it will take me forever to reply to everyone individually therefore, I think it will be best if I reply on the forums, publicly. The post I mentioned, it seems has now been filled. I have been off for 3 days and upon my return I was introduced to the new ATSA.

I'm really sorry to have got people's hopes up but if I get any concrete leads in the future I will post them on here.

I'm now off on a Radar refresher course for the next 2 weeks so I'll keep my ears open for any other ATSA positions around the country.
