Competency Assessment

Heard at work the other day that Competency Assessment at Eurocontrol is not to be implemented by the already postponed date. "FROZEN" the word used i believe.

How many ATC'ers out there are subject to Competency Assessment and what are your opinions on the subject?

Impi 19th December 2003 04:25

The powers who be at Eurocontrol(what?) have done it again...

Too much to ask for a bunch of incompetents I guess...

I heard the biggest obstacle was no one had any idea what to do with someone judged to be incompetent. The whole project (which wasn't a bad idea in theory) was set up by management guys who don't think things through before acting.

I think the fact that Impi couldnt make it as an ATC in Maastricht shows that competenty assessment is already working.

Actually, it has been decided and agreed that those who are not found competent will be offered another job within Eurocontrol...
